We present a theoretical analysis of the efficiency and rate of excitation transport on a network described by a complete graph in which every site is connected to every other. The long-time transport properties are analytically calculated for networks of arbitrary size that are symmetric except for the trapping site, start with a range of initial states, and are subject to dephasing and excitation decay. Conditions for which dephasing increases transport are identified, and optimal conditions are found for various physical parameters. The optimal conditions demonstrate robustness and a convergence of timescales previously observed in the context of light-harvesting complexes.

Low-temperature direct ammonia fuel cell (DAFC) stands out as a more secure technology than the hydrogen fuel cell system, while there is still a lack of elegant bottom-up synthesis procedures for efficient ammonia oxidation reaction (AOR) electrocatalysts. The widely accepted d-band center, even with consideration of the d-band width, usually fails to describe variations in AOR reactivity in many practical conditions, and a more accurate activity descriptor is necessary for a less empirical synthesis path. Herein, the upper d-band edge, ε, derived from the d-band model, is identified as an effective descriptor for accurately establishing the descriptor-activity relationship.

Traveling waves of excitation arise from the spatial coupling of local nonlinear events by transport processes. In corrosion systems, these electro-dissolution waves relay local perturbations across large portions of the metal surface, significantly amplifying overall damage. For the example of the magnesium alloy AZ31B exposed to sodium chloride solution, we report experimental results suggesting the existence of a vulnerable zone in the wake of corrosion waves where local perturbations can induce a unidirectional wave pulse or segment.
