Some patients with aortic stenosis may require multiple valve interventions in their lifetime, and choosing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) as the initial intervention may be appealing to many. If their transcatheter heart valve degenerates later in life, most will hope to undergo redo-TAVR. However, if redo-TAVR is not feasible, some may have to undergo surgical explantation of their transcatheter heart valve (TAVR-explant).

Background: Exposure to cold environments is linked to cold-induced hypertension due to activated sympathetic nerve activity (SNA) and arterial baroreceptor reflex dysfunction. However, direct measurement of SNA during cold-induced hypertension and changes in baroreflex control of SNA remain unexplored.
Methods: Chronically instrumented rats were exposed to cold temperatures (10 °C) over 4 days after a control period (24 °C), and renal and lumbar sympathetic nerve activities were simultaneously measured during cold-induced hypertension.

We present a case of an 80-year-old female who presented with chest pain, vomiting and night sweats a few weeks post thoracic endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (TEVAR). A computed tomography (CT) scan demonstrated a type 1B endoleak for which she underwent a repeat TEVAR. Postoperatively, she developed fever, dysphagia, haematemesis and melaena.

Background: The combined technique of programmed intermittent epidural boluses (PIEB) and dural puncture epidural (DPE) is currently considered a more effective mode for labor analgesia. We investigated the optimal interval time for PIEB administration with different concentrations of ropivacaine combined with the DPE for labor analgesia.
Methods: Ninety patients with cervical dilation of <5 cm and a VAS score >5 were randomly assigned to receive labor analgesia with ropivacaine at concentrations of 0.
