This Letter proposes a high-security and high-order signal transmission method that is based on delta-sigma modulation (DSM) and discrete memristive-enhanced chaos (DMEC). We employ the DMEC for the encryption of DSM signals to achieve a key space of 10 in size. Moreover, we demonstrated a high-security transmission of 16384QAM signals using the DSM over a 25 km single-mode fiber in the intensity-modulated direct detection (IMDD) system. The experimental results show that the proposed ultrahigh-order transmission scheme based on DMEC and DSM guarantees high signal transmission performances with improved security and a key sensitivity level of 10.

Due to mode coupling, a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is required in orbital angular momentum (OAM) modular division multiplexing (MDM) systems to improve transmission performance. In this paper, a cascade delta-sigma modulation (CDSM) scheme is proposed for OAM-MDM intensity modulation and direct detection (IM/DD) transmission. Different from the traditional DSM (TDSM) scheme, the scheme is divided into signal modulation and in-band noise modulation, in which the in-band noise modulation is used to further decrease the quantization noise generated in the signal modulation.

This paper explores the implementation of a VCO-based ADC, achieving an ENOB of 12 bits with 1 MHz of a sampling rate in the audio bandwidth. The solution exploits the scalability and PVT invariance of a novel digital-to-frequency converter to reduce the size and consumed power. The architecture has been validated in a 130 nm CMOS technology node displaying a power consumption of 105.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFree space optical communication (FSOC) technology has been developed rapidly and practically applied in many scenarios such as satellite-related ones, in unmanned aerial vehicles, for underwater use, etc. In certain applications, it is very important to obtain the high-precision position and distance information. The laser ranging technology is one of the main ways to realize it.

We employ a radial basis function neural network (RBFnn) to enhance Henon chaos, effectively avoiding the degradation of chaotic dynamics, and increasing the key space from 10 to 10. In the experimental demonstration, we achieved high-security transmission of 16384QAM over 25 km in an intensity-modulated direct detection (IMDD) system based on DSM.

This paper presents an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) fabricated using the CMOS 180 nm process to perform simultaneous neural recording and optogenetic stimulation. To perform effective optogenetic stimulation, the ASIC features an advanced switched-capacitor-based stimulation (SCS) driver, called voltage-boosting SCS (VB-SCS). The VB-SCS can drive LED with large current pulses up to 8 mA while reducing the required supply voltage by half, facilitating wireless power reception.
