Background: Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT are gaining attention for their potential applications in healthcare. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic sensitivity of various LLMs in detecting hip or knee osteoarthritis (OA) using only patient-reported data collected via a structured questionnaire, without prior medical consultation.
Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted at an orthopaedic outpatient clinic specialized in hip and knee OA treatment.

Background: Avascular necrosis (AVN) of the femoral head is a degenerative condition characterized by ischemic bone death, resulting in pain and impaired mobility. Core decompression, a surgical intervention, is widely performed for stage II AVN to alleviate symptoms and delay disease progression. While clinical and radiological outcomes are well-documented, the psychosocial dimensions of recovery remain underexplored.

Purpose Of Review: Artificial intelligence (AI) offers a new frontier for aiding in the management of both acute and chronic pain, which may potentially transform opioid prescribing practices and addiction prevention strategies. In this review paper, not only do we discuss some of the current literature around predicting various opioid-related outcomes, but we also briefly point out the next steps to improve trustworthiness of these AI models prior to real-time use in clinical workflow.
Recent Findings: Machine learning-based predictive models for identifying risk for persistent postoperative opioid use have been reported for spine surgery, knee arthroplasty, hip arthroplasty, arthroscopic joint surgery, outpatient surgery, and mixed surgical populations.

Purpose: Tibial valgus osteotomy has shown to be a successful and cost-effective procedure. The advent of image processing and three-dimensional (3D) printing is an interesting tool for achieving more accurate and reproducible results. The aim of our study was to compare the accuracy of the conventional technique and the use of customized guides in the correction of tibial deformities in tibial varus patients, the surgical and clinical benefits, and the impact of treatment in the outpatient setting.

These procedures provide significant pain relief and restore function in patients with advanced osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other degenerative joint conditions. Patient evaluation before surgery includes a history, physical examination, laboratory tests, and imaging.
