Although the transition process to motherhood of mothers who gave birth preterm has been examined using other theories, no studies have yet utilized Meleis's Transition Theory (TT). The aim of this study was to examine the transition process of mothers who gave birth preterm according to Meleis's TT. This study is a holistic single-pattern qualitative case study. The qualitative research paradigm was used based on the 32-item Qualitative Research Reporting Consolidated Criteria checklist, a guide for qualitative studies. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with 10 preterm mothers using a semistructured interview form between February 2019 and December 2021. The thematic analysis analysis method was used for the data obtained. After the data were transcribed, all the documents were read, and the data were deciphered. Using the notes, the codings were themed as titles and subtitles according to Meleis' TT. Three main themes were determined using Meleis' TT: facilitators and inhibitors of the transition process, response patterns to motherhood, and nursing care. Visiting the baby in the intensive care unit, touching, and expressing milk for the baby were found to be important milestones in the mothers' transition process. Mothers faced numerous problems after premature birth and required support to cope with the transition process. They attempted to adapt to the transition to motherhood with the support of nurses, husbands, and families. The researchers stated that may assist a healthy transition process by supporting health professionals to understand the problems faced by mothers during the transition to motherhood and to provide nursing care according to mothers' needs.

Cellular senescence is a phenotypic state that contributes to the progression of age-related disease through secretion of pro-inflammatory factors known as the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP). Understanding the process by which healthy cells become senescent and develop SASP factors is critical for improving the identification of senescent cells and, ultimately, understanding tissue dysfunction. Here, we reveal how the duration of cellular stress modulates the SASP in distinct subpopulations of senescent cells.

N-IV, Km. 396. 14071, Córdoba, Spain; Instituto Maimónides de Investigación Biomédica de Córdoba (IMIBIC), Córdoba, Spain. Av. Menéndez Pidal, s/n, Poniente Sur, 14004 Córdoba, Spain.

Background & Aims: We aimed to develop and validate an artificial intelligence score (GEMA-AI) to predict liver transplant (LT) waiting list outcomes using the same input variables contained in existing models.

Methods: Cohort study including adult LT candidates enlisted in the United Kingdom (2010-2020) for model training and internal validation, and in Australia (1998-2020) for external validation. GEMA-AI combined international normalized ratio, bilirubin, sodium, and the Royal Free Glomerular Filtration Rate in an explainable Artificial Neural Network.

Low-lying and small tropical coral reef islands around the world are extremely vulnerable to the effects of global environmental change caused by the combination of anthropogenic climate change and escalating extreme hydrodynamic events. Erosion and inundation are anticipated to physically destabilize the tropical coral reef islands, rendering them uninhabitable within the next century. Therefore, it is crucial to assess the repercussions of these hazardous events on the delicate reef island ecosystem in order to conserve and ensure sustainable management.

The present study summarises recent developments in solar-assisted extraction systems for distillation of essential oil from aromatic and medicinal plants. Various solar integrated essential oil extraction systems are compared based on performance parameters such as essential oil yield and system efficiency along with their potential effects on the domains of renewable energy. Solar steam distillation is an environmentally beneficial and energy-efficient technology of desalination that is especially ideal for areas with plentiful sun resources.

Nanomechanical responses (force-time profiles) of crystal lattices under deformation exhibit random critical jumps, reflecting the underlying structural transition processes. Despite extensive data collection, interpreting dynamic critical responses and their underlying mechanisms remains a significant challenge. This study explores a microscopic theoretical approach to analyse critical force fluctuations in martensitic transitions.
