Pyrene, a representative polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, frequently occurs in aquatic environments and is associated with lethal impacts on humans and wildlife. This study examined the impact of pyrene on , a dinoflagellate responsible for harmful algal blooms, and their capability to bioremove pyrene. In a 96 h exposure experiment, effectively reduced the pyrene concentration in seawater to 50, 100, and 200 μg/L, with a combined removal efficiency of 96% in seawater.

Objectives: This study examines the link between early-onset diabetes and health factors in South Korean young adults (20-39) using data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2010-2020).
Methods: A matched case-control study was conducted in 2022 with 103 patients with diabetes and 103 controls, matched by age, gender, and BMI. All data, including socioeconomic status (income, education, occupation), health behaviors (smoking, alcohol consumption, physical activity), and medical histories, were extracted from the KNHANES database.

The rising tide of bacterial drug resistance has sparked renewed interest in bacteriophages, the natural predators of bacteria. Our study highlights IME-EFm1, a Caudoviricetes bacteriophage specifically targeting Enterococcus faecium. Through our investigations, we identified that the gene IME-EFm1-ORF24 encodes an amidase, referred to as gp24, with promising lytic capabilities.

Purpose: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a common malignancy with a low survival rate as well as a low response rate to immunotherapy. This study aims to develop a risk model based on tertiary lymphoid structure (TLS)-associated gene signatures to enhance predictions of prognosis and immunotherapy response.
Methods: TLS-associated gene data were obtained from TCGA-CRC and GEO cohorts.
