Background And Aims: Controversy remains whether the mortality risk in people with fatty liver disease (FLD) including metabolic-(dysfunction) associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and metabolic-(dysfunction) associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is higher than observed in those without FLD. We aimed to determine the mortality rate and mortality rate ratio (MRR) for these FLDs.
Methods: The study population was a randomly selected cohort of community-dwelling adults in regional Victoria, Australia between 2001 and 2003 with sufficient data evaluable for Fatty Liver Index and determination on alcohol consumption.

Objective: This ex vivo diagnostic study aimed to externally validate a freely accessible AI-based model for caries detection, classification, localisation and segmentation using an independent image dataset. It was hypothesised that there would be no difference in diagnostic performance compared to previously published internal validation data.
Methods: For the independent dataset, 718 dental images representing different stages of carious ( = 535) and noncarious teeth ( = 183) were retrieved from the internet.

The cumulant expansion of the Green's function is a computationally efficient beyond-GW approach renowned for its significant enhancement of satellite features in materials. In contrast to the ubiquitous GW approximation of many-body perturbation theory, cumulant expansions performed on top of GW (GW + C) have demonstrated the capability to handle multi-particle processes by incorporating higher-order correlation effects or vertex corrections, yielding better agreements between experiment and theory for satellite structures. While widely employed in condensed matter physics, very few applications of GW + C have been published on molecular systems.

Objectives: This ex vivo diagnostic study aimed to externally validate an open-access artificial intelligence (AI)-based model for the detection, classification, localisation and segmentation of enamel/molar incisor hypomineralisation (EH/MIH).
Methods: An independent sample of web images showing teeth with (n = 277) and without (n = 178) EH/MIH was evaluated by a workgroup of dentists whose consensus served as the reference standard. Then, an AI-based model was used for the detection of EH/MIH, followed by automated classification and segmentation of the findings (test method).
