We present an investigation into the vertical transport through 13 different superlattice structures, where the well and barrier widths, doping concentration, dopant position, and contact layers were varied. Although superlattices have been extensively studied since 1970, there is a lack of publications on transport through superlattices similarly low doped as THz quantum cascade lasers (QCLs), for which the doping is in the 3-5×10^{10} cm^{-2} range. The superlattices presented are doped in the same range as THz QCLs, with contact layers and fabrication comparable to high-temperature THz QCLs. The temperature-dependent current-voltage characteristics were measured starting from 5 K and an anomalous temperature effect was observed at the first plateau. The measured current through the superlattice first decreases before increasing again with increasing temperature, resulting in the lowest current occurring at 75-110 K. This behavior is also observed in some THz QCLs. The effect disappears for thinner barriers, higher quantum well doping, or modified contact layers, indicating a strong dependency on band bending, due to the large difference in the doping of the contact layers and the superlattice, which is confirmed with multiscattering Büttiker simulations.

The development of a newly fabricated ion-selective electrode (ISE) solid-contacted type for the determination of prucalopride succinate represents a significant advancement in analytical chemistry, particularly in the context of green chemistry principles. The optimization process involved numerous trials to ensure the selection of a cation exchanger and ionophore that offer high sensitivity and selectivity for prucalopride succinate. Through these optimization trials, sodium tetrakis was identified as the most suitable cation exchanger, while calix [8] arene demonstrated the highest affinity towards prucalopride succinate as the ionophore.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is associated with sclerosis, a thickening of the subchondral bone plate, yet little is known about bone adaptations around full-thickness cartilage defects in severe knee OA, particularly beneath bone-on-bone wear grooves. This high-resolution micro-computed tomography (microCT) study aimed to quantify subchondral bone microstructure relative to cartilage defect location, distance from the joint space, and groove depth. Ten tibial plateaus with full-thickness cartilage defects were microCT-scanned to determine defect location and size.

The effects of termination functional groups of the TiCT MXene membrane on the structural and dynamics properties of nearby water molecules and foulants are investigated through molecular dynamics simulations. The simulation results show that a much denser water layer can be formed at the vicinity of hydroxyl (OH) termination than that near fluorine (F) or oxygen (O) termination. Particular focus is given to the molecular binding properties of β-d-mannuronic acid (M) and α-l-guluronic acid (G) alginate monomers on the MXene membrane surface with different termination groups.

Luffa is a robust, renewable biomaterial known for its low mass, high specific strength, and non-toxicity, making it ideal for composite development. This study modified luffa to create the LF@ppy@LDH nanocomposite, combining luffa, polypyrrole, and layered double hydroxides to efficiently remove ibuprofen from water. Techniques like FE-SEM, EDX, FTIR, and XRD confirmed the modification.
