Finding the best strategy to minimize the time needed to find a given target is a crucial task both in nature and in reaching decisive technological advances. By considering learning agents able to switch their dynamics between standard and active Brownian motion, here we focus on developing effective target-search behavioral policies for microswimmers navigating a homogeneous environment and searching for targets of unknown position. We exploit projective simulation, a reinforcement learning algorithm, to acquire an efficient stochastic policy represented by the probability of switching the phase, the navigation mode, in response to the type and the duration of the current phase. Our findings reveal that the target-search efficiency increases with the particle's self-propulsion during the active phase and that, while the optimal duration of the passive case decreases monotonically with the activity, the optimal duration of the active phase displays a non-monotonic behavior.

The ability of particles to transform absorbed energy into translational movements brings peculiar order into nonequilibrium matter. Connected together into a chain, these particles collectively behave completely differently from well-known equilibrium polymers. Examples of such systems vary from nanoscale to macroscopic objects.

Dynamics of non-Markovian systems is a classic problem yet it attracts everlasting activity in physics and beyond. A powerful tool for modeling such setups is the generalized Langevin equation, however, its analysis typically poses a major challenge even for numerical means. For this reason, various approximations have been proposed over the years that simplify the original model.

Stochastic resetting has recently emerged as an efficient target-searching strategy in various physical and biological systems. The efficiency of this strategy depends on the type of environmental noise, whether it is thermal or telegraphic (active). While the impact of each noise type on a search process has been investigated separately, their combined effects have not been explored.

- The main goal of this article is to outline the key elements of activation energy that govern the slip flow of Carreau fluid over a non-linear stretched surface with heat transfer. By using the Arrhenius relation, activation energy aspects are included. Brownian diffusion and thermophoretic effects are shown through the study of nanoparticle dispersion using the Buongiorno model.

The cytoplasm of bacterial cells is densely packed with highly polydisperse macromolecules that exhibit size-dependent glassy dynamics. Recent research has revealed that metabolic activities in living cells can counteract the glassy nature of these macromolecules, allowing the cell to maintain critical fluidity for its growth and function. While it has been proposed that the crowded cytoplasm is responsible for this glassy behavior, a detailed analysis of the size-dependent nature of the glassy dynamics and an explanation for how cellular activity induces its fluidization remains elusive.
