A considerable part of the burden of disease in the Netherlands is caused by unhealthy behavior. Prevention is therefore an important part of recent national agreements, which must now be given practical shape. It is widely known that behavior change is difficult and requires intervening at many levels simultaneously. A relatively scarcely used instrument are financial incentives for lifestyle behavior, despite increasing knowledge about its effectiveness. In this paper, we present ten insights from science for practice about offering financial incentives for lifestyle support, with the aim to fuel the discussion.

Background: An increasing number of multicomponent workplace interventions are being developed to reduce sedentary time and promote physical activity among office workers. The Physical Activity at Work (PAW) trial was one of these interventions, but it yielded an inconclusive effect on sedentary time after 6 months, with a low uptake of movement breaks, the main intervention component.
Objective: This study investigates the factors contributing to the outcomes of the PAW cluster randomized trial.

Background: The current negative trend in the physical behavior and lifestyle of the population therefore requires adequate changes in the professional training of physiotherapists.
Objectives: This study aimed to determine the structure and differences in the weekly physical activity (PA) of Czech physiotherapy students, the use of wearables in physiotherapy professional training, and the attitude of physiotherapy students toward PA and the use of wearables in physiotherapy practice.
Methods: Between 2013 and 2022, 412 physiotherapy students participated in a PA-monitoring study using questonnaires International Physical Activity Questionnaire-long form, Motives for Physical Activity Measure-Revise, pedometers, Garmin Vívofit and Axivity AX3 accelerometers.

Background: Up to one-third of dementia cases may be preventable, with evidence suggesting that modifying lifestyle and health behaviors can significantly lower the risk of developing dementia.
