In this article, the dissolution kinetics of pure metallic silver in acetic acid with a hydrogen peroxide solution were carried out. The effects of stirring speed, acetic acid concentration, hydrogen peroxide concentration, and temperature were examined. The results show that increasing the stirring speed decomposes the hydrogen peroxide and negatively affects the dissolution rate of silver. In addition, an acetic acid concentration in the range of 0.25-1 M has a positive effect and a negative effect in the range of 1-3 M. A hydrogen peroxide concentration in the range of 0.5-2 M has a significantly positive effect on the dissolution rate, while it has a negative effect in the range of 2-3 M. The temperature in the range of 61.5-70 °C has a negative effect due to the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide. The shrinking core model was applied to all parameters to obtain the dissolution kinetics. The dissolution process of silver was controlled by the surface reaction-controlled shrinking core model, i.e. 1-(1-X) = kst, with an activation energy of 28.80 kJ/mol.

Abnormality of granulosa cells (GCs) is the critical cause of follicular atresia in premature ovarian failure (POF). RIPK3 is highly expressed in GCs derived from atretic follicles. We focus on uncovering how RIPK3 contributes to ovarian GC senescence.

To investigate the effects of long non-coding RNA KLHL7-AS1 (LncRNA KLHL7-AS1) on the proliferation and apoptosis of nucleus pulposus cells under oxidative stress and its mechanisms. Human nucleus pulposus cells (HUM-iCell-s012) were divided into 4 groups, and unoxidized nucleus pulposus cells were transfected with an empty pcDNA vector (pcDNA-control) to serve as the blank control group. Based on previous studies on oxidative stress-induced nucleus pulposus cell senescence and preliminary experiments, oxidative stress was induced by treating nucleus pulposus cells with 400 μmol/L HO.

The interference of the expression of each of the genes involved in the synthesis of coenzyme Q (CoQ) in Drosophila melanogaster can help to understand the pathophysiology of CoQ-dependent mitochondrial diseases in humans. We have knocked-down all genes involved in the CoQ biosynthesis pathway at different temperatures to induce depletion of CoQ at different levels throughout the body and in a tissue-specific manner. The efficiency of the knockdowns was quantified by Q-RTPCR and determination of CoQ levels by HPLC-UV+ECD.

The treatment of diabetic wounds with bacterial infection is a major challenge in the medical field. Microenvironment-responsive hydrogel dressings have shown great advantages, and photothermal antibacterial therapy is a potential antimicrobial strategy to avoid the generation of resistant bacteria. In this work, a glucose-triggered near-infrared (NIR)-responsive photothermal antibacterial hydrogel was designed and named GOGD based on a cascade reaction of glucose oxidation and polyphenol polymerization.
