Demonstrating the limitations of the one-at-a-time approach, crowd initiatives reveal the surprisingly powerful role of analytic and design choices in shaping scientific results. At the same time, cross-cultural variability in effects is far below the levels initially expected. This highlights the value of "medium" science, leveraging diverse stimulus sets and extensive robustness checks to achieve integrative tests of competing theories.

Working memory (WM), the capacity to temporarily hold and manipulate information, is evaluated using the span paradigm, which consists of forward and backward recall tasks to assess storage and manipulation, respectively. In accordance with the dedifferentiation theory, which suggests that different cognitive abilities compensate for the decline of others during the aging process, the current study aimed to examine whether fluid intelligence mediates the relationship between forward and backward recall across verbal, visuospatial, and tactile modalities while including age as a moderator. A total of 106 healthy older adults aged 60-89 years underwent the Digit Span, Visuospatial Span, Tactual Span, and Raven Colored Progressive Matrices Test.

Introduction: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of mortality in the United States, disproportionately affecting marginalized populations such as Black and Latinx sexual minority men with HIV. These individuals face heightened CVD risk due to chronic inflammation related to HIV, side effects from treatment, and intersecting social disadvantages, including stigma and discrimination. Behavioral interventions specifically targeting these populations have been limited, with insufficient uptake in marginalized communities.

Prior research has established differences between autistic and non-autistic individuals across the domains of executive function (EF). While some early theories portrayed these differences as universal to the autism spectrum, recent findings have been quite mixed. Factors like small samples, the components of EF being measured, and the age and intelligence quotient (IQ) of those being compared may contribute to this diversity in results.

Background: Teachers' verbal immediacy behaviors play a important role in enhancing student engagement, motivation, and emotional security. However, as the role of smart classrooms in education becomes increasingly prominent, research on the formation mechanisms of teachers' verbal immediacy behaviors in smart classroom environments remains relatively limited. Especially, at the primary grades, research on teachers' verbal immediacy behaviors has not yet garnered sufficient attention.
