Numerous functions in pathogenic Pectobacterium are regulated by quorum sensing (QS). Two different aiiA genes isolated from Bacillus sp. A24(aiiA) and Bacillus sp. DMS133(aiiA) were used. Both genes encode acyl-homoserine lactonase (AiiA), which disrupts QS in Pectobacterium. To investigate the effect of different AiiAs on the inhibition of Pectobacterium carotovorum pathogenicity, two aiiA genes from different Bacillus strains were cloned and the resulting plasmids pME6863 (aiiA) and pME7080 (aiiA) were transformed into P. carotovorum EMPCC cells. The effects of different lactonases on virulence features such as enzymatic activity, twitching and swimming motilities, and production of pellicle and biofilm formation were investigated. In EMPCC/pME6863, twitching and swimming motilities, and pellicle production were significantly reduced compared with EMPCC/pME7080. Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) was used to measure virulence gene expression in transformed cells compared with expression levels in wild-type EMPCC. The expression of peh and hrpL genes was greatly reduced in EMPCC/pME6863 compared with EMPCC/pME7080. The sequence alignment and molecular dynamic modeling of two different AiiA and AiiA proteins suggested that the replacement of proline 210 from AiiA to serine in AiiA caused the reduction of enzyme activity in AiiA.

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) is a hematological malignancy marked by the clonal proliferation of the mature, yet dysfunctional B lymphocytes in blood and its subsequent infiltration of the marrow, lymphoid tissues and spleen. The resultant immune dysfunction exposes the body to multiple infections and is a cause of major mortality. Here, we discuss the case of a 46-year-old male suffering from CLL who presented with long-standing episodes of low-grade fever, productive cough and throat irritation, lethargy and pedal edema.

Electrogenic biofilm formation has been shown to be induced by intracellular c-di-GMP signaling and extracellular quorum sensing, but their interactions have been rarely explored. This study explored the effects of quorum quenching (induced by adding acylase) on electrogenic biofilm development and its underlying mechanisms. Quorum quenching impaired the electricity generation and electroactivity of electrogenic biofilms as indicated by dye decolorization rate.

Objective: To evaluate the image quality and diagnostic performance of AI-assisted iterative algorithm protocols (AIIA) in accelerated fast spin-echo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) versus standard (SD) fast spin-echo MRI for clinical 3.0 T rapid knee scans.
Materials And Methods: The accelerated sequence, which includes fat-suppression proton density-weighted imaging (FS-PDWI), T2-weighted imaging (T2WI), and T1-weighted imaging (T1WI), was used in conjunction with the SD sequence in 61 patients who underwent MRI scans.

Background: Qurom quenching enzyme have an impact on treatment efficacy and prevent the recurrence of Helicobacter pylori biofilm-related infections, although it has not been thoroughly investigated in vitro and in silico. The current study aims to characterize the N-acyl homoserine lactonase, the quorum quenching AiiA protein of Bacillus licheniformis against H. pylori biofilm.
