Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a complex disorder with a strong genetic component, yet many genetic risk factors remain unknown. Integrating genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and high-throughput proteomic platforms is a useful strategy to evaluate protein quantitative trait loci (pQTLs) and to detect candidate genes and pathways involved in AD. Due to the novelty of these techniques, the identification of reliable protein measures through a comprehensive quality control is mandatory.

One brain region known to be crucial in regulating social behaviors is the noradrenergic locus coeruleus (LC), a region that becomes dysfunctional as AD progresses. Unfortunately, deficits in social bonding have been relatively understudied in AD, due in part to the limited social behavioral repertoires of mouse and rat models of AD.

Matrix metalloproteinase-8 (MMP-8), a type II collagenase, is a key enzyme in the degradation of collagens and is implicated in various pathological processes, making it a promising target for drug discovery. Despite advancements in the development of MMP-8 inhibitors, concerns over potential adverse effects persist. This study aims to address these concerns by focusing on the development of novel compounds with improved safety profiles while maintaining efficacy.

Healthy eating habits may protect adolescents against disease development, ensure optimal physical and cognitive development, and may persist in adulthood. However, adolescents usually prefer sweetened dairy products and show a low consumption of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and pulses. Co-creation offers an innovative and inclusive alternative for the development of new products.

In the domain of online reinforcement learning, strategies that leverage inherent rewards for exploration tend to achieve commendable outcomes within contexts characterized by deceptive or sparse rewards. Counting through the visitation of states is an efficient count-based exploration method to get the proper intrinsic reward. However, only the novelty of the states encountered by the agent is considered in this exploration method, resulting in the over-exploration of a certain state-action pair and falling into a locally optimal solution.
