Introduction: This study investigates the behavior of graphene and GUM in terms of cyclic fatigue resistance and torsion through a finite element analysis on a file with an eccentric rectangular cross section and variable taper, and on a file with a centered triangular cross section, constant taper, and constant pitch.
Methods: Root canals and endodontic files were created using Catia V5R21 software. For torsional analysis, the tip of the file was fixed at 1 and 3 mm, and a moment of 2.5 N-mm was generated at the handle. For the bending analysis in curved canals (45° and 60°), the handle was kept fixed and a force of 1 N was applied at the tip while the file was kept fixed at 9 mm.
Results: GUM metal instruments showed better torsional resistance. On the other hand, NiTi and graphene performed better under the applied loads during flexion at 45° and 60°.
Conclusion: GUM metal is emerging as a promising material in the field of endodontic instrument design due to its physical properties.

The poor mechanics and functionality of natural-polymer hydrogels from gellan gum (GG) prohibit their practical application, despite the intrinsic thermo-reversible gelation nature, structural and quality consistency, biocompatibility, biodegradability and sustainability of microbial fermentation-produced GG. Herein, a dual-reinforcing strategy, i.e.

Biofilm formation on biological and material surfaces represents a heavy health and economic burden for both patient and society. To contrast this phenomenon, medical devices combining antibacterial and pro-wound healing abilities are a promising strategy. In the present work, Xanthan gum/Guar gum (XG/GG)-based scaffolds were tuned with thymol and Zn to obtain wound dressings that combine antibacterial and antibiofilm properties and favour the healing process.

As is widely accepted, cumulative strain and improvement mechanisms of stabilized soil are critical factors for the long-term reliable operation of expressways and high-speed railways. Based on relevant research findings, xanthan gum biopolymer is regarded as a green and environmentally friendly curing agent in comparison to traditional stabilizers, such as cement, lime, and fly ash. However, little attention has been devoted to the cumulative strain and improvement mechanisms of soil reinforced by xanthan gum biopolymer under traffic loading.

The most time-consuming aspect of dental prosthesis installation is the osseointegration of a metal implant with bone tissue. The acceleration of this process may be achieved through the use of extracorporeal shock wave therapy. The objective of this study is to investigate the conditions for osseointegration of the second premolar implant in the mandibular segment through the use of a poroelastic model implemented in the movable cellular automaton method.

Cadmium (Cd) is among the most ecologically harmful heavy metals. The purpose of this work was to identify the biologically active components in dried oleo-resin-gum of extract (FAE) and assess their preventive efficacy against oxidative damage caused by Cd in rats. The biologically active components were identified using HPLC and GC-MS.
