Background: Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)-based and cannabidiol (CBD)-based products are increasing in popularity for the management of pain. Cannabis-based products may serve as a valuable alternative to traditional analgesics such as opioids for pain management among orthopedic patients. The purpose of this study was to investigate the perspective of orthopedic sports medicine patients regarding the use of THC- and CBD-based products for the management of musculoskeletal pain.

Background: The existing criteria for living kidney donors (LKDs)in Japan are controversial. We evaluated the roles of computed tomography volumetry (CTV) and 99 m Tc-diethylenetriamine penta-acetic acid (DTPA) scintigraphy in assessing preoperative and postoperative renal function and predicting early recovery of residual renal function.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical charts of 175 consecutive LKDs who underwent donor nephrectomy (DN) at our institution between 2006 and 2022.

Purpose: Infants needing neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) intervention have protracted timelines for diagnosis after not passing their newborn hearing screening despite being at higher risk for congenital hearing loss. The primary aim of this study was to evaluate the outcomes of early hearing detection for infants with a history of NICU admission. The secondary aim was to determine if diagnostic audiology services within the NICU setting accelerated diagnosis and intervention.
