In this work, a photoacoustic (PA) probe, , was developed for the imaging of cardiovascular diseases by monitoring the γ-glutamyl transferase (GGT) dynamics. exhibited a stable PA signal with auxiliary absorbance and NIRF variation after the trigger by GGT. In all three modalities of absorbance, NIRF, and PA, could quantitatively reflect the GGT level. In PA modality, indicated the practical advantages including high sensitivity, high stability, and high specificity. In living oxidized low-density lipoprotein-induced RAW264.7 cells, indicated proper capability for imaging the plaques by visualizing the GGT dynamics. Moreover, during imaging in living model mice, was achieved to distinguish the plaques from healthy blood vessels via a multiview PA presentation. could also suggest the severity of plaques in the extracted aorta from the model mice, which was consistent with the histological staining results. The information herein might be useful for future investigations on cardiovascular diseases.

Smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) patients are a heterogeneous group with variable prognosis. A subset of SMM patients have a higher risk of progressing to multiple myeloma (MM) within 2 years. The definition of high-risk patients is not consistent among different risk models, and the combination of various biomarkers and new technologies improves the predictive performance of risk models.

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is clinically manifested as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). VTE is the third most prevalent vascular disease after coronary artery and cerebrovascular diseases. VTE is a multifactorial disease caused by the interaction of genetic and acquired risk factors.

The application of standardized criteria to evaluate treatment efficacy is crucial for guiding therapeutic decisions, assessing prognosis, and interpreting outcomes in treating multiple myeloma (MM). The unique characteristics of MM make its response assessment more complex compared with other malignancies. It primarily depends on serum and urine M protein levels, combined with the number of plasma cells in the bone marrow and comprehensive imaging findings.

T wave inversion (TWI) on the electrocardiogram (ECG) is a relatively common finding in athletes. It poses a diagnostic challenge, as it can indicate either a benign physiological pattern or an early sign of serious cardiac pathology. This expert opinion statement provides a comprehensive review of the current understanding of TWI in athletes, emphasizing the importance of its localization, associated clinical features, and demographic factors in guiding its interpretation and management.

Introduction: While lymphodepletion is considered a therapeutic effect of rabbit anti-thymocyte globulin (rATG), a concomitant decrease in basophil count (BC) has unknown clinical effect.
Objective: To investigate the association between BC following rATG induction and acute cellular rejection (ACR) during the first post-HTx year.
Methods: Retrospective single-center study included 183 HTx recipients receiving rATG induction between 2010 and 2021 (mean age 52 ± 13 years, 23 % female).
