Objective To synthesize carbendazim artificial antigens, prepare carbendazim polyclonal antibodies and identify their characteristics. Methods Active carboxyl groups were introduced to prepare the carbendazim haptens by the mixed anhydride method. The artificial antigens and coating antigens were obtained by coupling the small molecule haptens with carriers of bovine serum albumin (BSA) and ovalbumin (OVA). Sodium dodecyl sulfate polycrylamide gel electropheresis (SDS-PAGE) was used to identify carbendazim artificial antigens. Mice were immunized with the prepared artificial antigens to obtain polyclonal antibodies against carbendazim, and the antibody titers and specificity were identified by indirect ELISA. Results Carbendazim artificial antigens were successfully prepared. The titer of polyclonal antibody was above 1:12 800 and the half-maximal inhibitory concentration ( IC) of the antibody was 0.107 μg/mL. The cross-reactivity rates with both benomyl and thiabendazole were less than 1%. Conclusion Polyclonal antibodies with high sensitivity and high specificity were successfully prepared, laying the foundation for the establishment of a rapid detection method for carbendazim residues.

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. In recent years, immune checkpoint inhibitor therapies, in addition to standard immuno- or chemotherapy and surgical approaches, have massively improved the outcome for cancer patients. However, these therapies have their limitations and improved strategies, including access to reliable cancer vaccines, are needed.

Productive biosensing techniques empowered by all-dielectric metasurfaces.

Artificially designed, functional nanostructured surfaces, called metasurfaces, are an emerging platform for biosensing. Two major types of metasurface biosensors have been reported: one is based on resonant-wavelength shift and the other is specialized for fluorescence (FL) detection. The all-dielectric metasurfaces that composed of periodic arrays of silicon nanocolumns have a series of optical magnetic-mode resonances, some of which were found to significantly enhance capability for FL detection of diverse target biomolecules, ranging from nucleic acid to antigens and antibodies.

Current approaches for classifying biosensor data in diagnostics rely on fixed decision thresholds based on receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, which can be limited in accuracy for complex and variable signals. To address these limitations, we developed a framework that facilitates the application of machine learning (ML) to diagnostic data for the binary classification of clinical samples, when using real-time electrochemical measurements. The framework was applied to a real-time multimeric aptamer assay (RT-MAp) that captures single-frequency (12.

Drug discovery continues to face a staggering 90% failure rate, with many setbacks occurring during late-stage clinical trials. To address this challenge, there is an increasing focus on developing and evaluating new technologies to enhance the "design" and "test" phases of antibody-based drugs (e.g.

Introduction: Effects of Dapagliflozin (Dapa) and Dapagliflozin-Saxagliptin combination (Combo) was examined on peripheral blood derived CD34 + Hematopoetic Stem Cells (HSCs) as a cellular CVD biomarker. Both Dapa (a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 or SGLT2, receptor inhibitor) and Saxagliptin (a Di-peptydl-peptidase-4 or DPP4 enzyme inhibitor) are commonly used type 2 diabetes mellitus or T2DM medications, however the benefit of using the combination has not been evaluated for cardio-renal risk assessment, in a real-life practice setting, compared to a placebo.

Hypothesis: We hypothesized that Dapa will improve the outcomes when compared to placebo and the Combo maybe even more beneficial.
