Aims: The antihypertensive activity of was tested.

Background: (Thymelaeaceae) is used against hypertension.

Objective: The antihypertensive effect of was evaluated in this study.

Methods: The effect of aqueous extract (DGAE, 100 and 180 mg/kg) on blood pressure was evaluated in rats. In addition, the vasorelaxant effect of this extract was also tested.

Results: DGAE lowered blood pressure in hypertensive rats and exhibited vasorelaxant activity. In addition, cumulative concentrations of DGAE induced vasodilatation through receptoractivated calcium channels (ROCCs) without affecting ACE-2.

Conclusion: The aqueous extract of exhibits antihypertensive activity and induces vasodilatation via the inhibition of Ca entry.

Aims: To study differences in cardiovascular prevention and hypertension management in primary care in men and women, with comparisons between public and privately operated primary health care (PHC).

Methods: We used register data from Region Stockholm on collected prescribed medication and registered diagnoses, to identify patients aged 30 years and above with hypertension. Age-adjusted logistic regression was used to calculate odds ratios (ORs) with 99% confidence intervals (99% CIs) using public PHC centers as referents.

Enzymatic hydrolysis approach is commonly employed for preparation of active peptides, while the limited purity and yield of produced peptides hinder further development of action mechanisms. This study presents the biotechnological approach for the efficient production of recombinant angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory peptide LYPVK and investigates its potential antihypertensive action mechanism. DNA encoding sequence of recombinant peptide was designed to form in tandem, which was expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3).

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) and hypertension are interconnected, worsening each other. Recent studies have shown that the reduction of peroxiredoxin 5 (Prdx5) accelerates kidney fibrosis, a hallmark of CKD. This study aims to observe whether the deficiency of Prdx5 also contributes to the worsening of CKD-related hypertension.

The impact of the world's growing population on food systems and the role of dietary patterns in the management of non-communicable diseases underscore the need to explore sustainable and dietary protein sources. Although microalgae have stood out as alternative sources of proteins and bioactive peptides, some species such as remain unexplored. This study aimed to characterize 's proteome and evaluate its potential as a source of bioactive peptides by using an in silico approach.
