The brain-computer interface (BCI) is a technology that involves direct communication with parts of the brain and has evolved rapidly in recent years; it has begun to be used in clinical practice, such as for patient rehabilitation. Patient electroencephalography (EEG) datasets are critical for algorithm optimization and clinical applications of BCIs but are rare at present. We collected data from 50 acute stroke patients with wireless portable saline EEG devices during the performance of two tasks: 1) imagining right-handed movements and 2) imagining left-handed movements. The dataset consists of four types of data: 1) the motor imagery instructions, 2) raw recording data, 3) pre-processed data after removing artefacts and other manipulations, and 4) patient characteristics. This is the first open dataset to address left- and right-handed motor imagery in acute stroke patients. We believe that the dataset will be very helpful for analysing brain activation and designing decoding methods that are more applicable for acute stroke patients, which will greatly facilitate research in the field of motor imagery-BCI.

Background And Objectives: Whether thrombectomy compared with best medical treatment (BMT) improves outcome in patients with stroke and carotid artery dissection (CAD) is unknown.
Methods: This was an international observational study based on prospective nationwide Austrian, German, and Swiss stroke registries. Patients with large vessel occlusion (LVO) due to CAD were compared according to treatment modality (thrombectomy vs BMT including intravenous thrombolysis) and to admission stroke severity NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) <6 vs NIHSS ≥6.

Purpose: We sought to evaluate the effect of intensive physical training on left ventricular (LV) hemodynamic forces (HDF) in athletes.
Methods: Forty professional endurance athletes were evaluated at the beginning of their training cycle (off-season) and after a period of aerobic isotonic dynamic exercise (peak training period) using cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR). Images were analyzed off-line using dedicated software.

Auditory motion stimulation is a promising new therapeutical approach for visual neglect, whereby patients listen to music which repeatedly moves from the ipsi - to the contralateral hemispace. In this study, we investigated the feasibility, enjoyability, and efficacy of auditory motion simulation in an inpatient neurorehabilitation setting. 30 patients with left-sided visual neglect due to a right-hemispheric subacute stroke participated in the study.

The medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and hippocampus are critical for memory retrieval, decision making, and emotional regulation. While ventral CA1 (vCA1) shows direct and reciprocal connections with mPFC, dorsal CA1 (dCA1) forms indirect pathways to mPFC, notably via the thalamic reuniens nucleus (Re). Neuroanatomical tracing has documented structural connectivity of this indirect pathway through Re however, its functional operation is largely unexplored.

Background And Objectives: Endovascular treatment (EVT) for medium vessel occlusion (MeVO) raises concern about hemorrhagic complications; however, its clinical impact has not been elucidated. Therefore, we investigated the association between intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) after EVT for MeVO and functional outcomes.
Methods: We conducted a post hoc analysis of the Japan Registry of NeuroEndovascular Therapy 4, a nationwide registry in Japan from 2015 to 2019 including 13 479 patients who underwent EVT for acute ischemic stroke.
