The use of iron-based catalysts for the water oxidation reaction is highly attractive due to the high abundance of iron. While many molecular catalysts have been made, most show limited activity and short lifetimes. An exception with higher activity was presented by Thummel and co-workers in 2015. Herein we present a study on the feasibility of the coupling of two O centered radicals originating from the two subunits of the dinuclear catalyst. The reaction pathway includes the oxidation to the active species Fe-O-Fe but avoids further high potential oxidations which previous mechanistic proposals have relied on.

The overuse of antibiotics has led to the severe contamination of water bodies, posing a considerable hazard to human health. Therefore, the development of an accurate and rapid point-of-care testing (POCT) platform for the quantitative detection of antibiotics is necessary. In this study, Cerium oxide (CeO) and Ferrosoferric oxide (FeO) nanoparticles were simultaneously encapsulated into N-doped nanofibrous carbon microspheres to form of a novel nanozyme (CeFe-NCMzyme) with a porous structure, high surface area, and N-doped carbon material properties, leading to a considerable enhancement of the peroxidase (POD)-like activity compared with that of the CeO or FeO nanoparticles alone.

Identifying the compound formulae-related xenobiotics in bio-samples is full of challenges. Conventional strategies always exhibit the insufficiencies in overall coverage, analytical efficiency, and degree of automation, and the results highly rely on the personal knowledge and experience. The goal of this work was to establish a software-aided approach, by integrating ultra-high performance liquid chromatography/ion-mobility quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UHPLC/IM-QTOF-MS) and in-house high-definition MS library, to enhance the identification of prototypes and metabolites of the compound formulae , taking Sishen formula (SSF) as a template.

Unlabelled: Recently, there has been a growing interest in the application of beneficial microorganisms to enhance crop performance. (MSR-1) are spiral-shaped, gram-negative bacteria that exhibit magnetotaxis with the help of magnetosomes (iron oxide or iron sulphide). They have exhibited biomedical and environmental applications; however, the agricultural utilization of these strains is yet to be explored.

The study aimed to assess the oxidative modification behavior of bovine myofibrillar proteins (MPs) cysteines (Cys) by hydroxyl radical (·OH) through the construction of an in vitr Fenton reaction system. The ·OH generated by the Fenton reaction induced large-scale oxidative modification of Cys, and redox proteomics identified a total of 1192 differential oxidation sites (Dos), 59 Dos were located in the MPs structure. The Cys of actin (17 Dos), myosin/myomesin (16 Dos), tenascin (12 Dos) and sarcomere (10 Dos) in the MPs structure showed active oxidative modification behavior towards ·OH, especially with the "-C-X-X-X-X-W-" structure amino acid sequence showed high sensitivity.
