The submarine groundwater discharge (SGD) into the sea is known to alter various biotic and abiotic properties of coastal waters. However, its influence on the lower trophic levels, namely, meiofauna, is poorly understood. This study highlights the impact of SGD on the density, distribution, and diversity of intertidal meiofaunal communities along the subterranean estuaries (STEs) of the southwest coast of India (Arabian Sea).

Surface greenness alters regional water storage by regulating hydrological processes, thereby modulating water constraints on ecosystem functions and feeding back sustainability. In semi-arid regions, excessive revegetation may exacerbate regional water resource depletion, intensify water limitations on ecosystems, and threaten long-term sustainability. However, these changes have not been adequately assessed.

Groundwater is often used directly by the public in several river basins of India. Hence, this study was carried out with the objective of assessing the quality of groundwater in the Amaravathi basin, India, using a multiple indices approach. Groundwater quality data from 96 monitoring wells were obtained from the Central Groundwater Board and used in this study.

To explore the mechanism of water inrush from the mine roof strata, a series of seepage-acoustic emission (SAE) experiments on red sandstone disc samples were carried out. The effects of the height to diameter ratio (H/D) and pore pressure on the mechanical, hydraulic and crack propagation properties of red sandstones were investigated. Test results show that, the peak load of rock samples declines with the decreasing H/D and increasing pore pressure.

As a novel organophosphate ester (NOPE), tris(2,4-di-butylphenyl) phosphate (TDtBPP) has attracted significant attention due to its unexpectedly high detection in natural environments. However, the ecological toxic effects of environmentally relevant concentrations of TDtBPP in organisms remain entirely unknown. In this study, 1 month old zebrafish were exposed to 0, 50, 500, or 5000 ng/L TDtBPP for 150 days, and the reproductive toxicity in male fish was evaluated.
