Acute hemorrhage in pregnancy may lead to maternal and/or fetal morbidity or mortality. In emergency medicine, blockage of the aorta via an inflatable endovascular balloon, technically referred to Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta (REBOA), is used to manage hemorrhage. However, the application of REBOA in pregnancy needs to strike a balance between two competing objectives of limiting maternal blood loss and ensuring fetal wellness, for which one would need to predict the impact of regulated blood pressure on fetal wellness. To address this problem, we propose an efficient machine learning-based method to predict the temporal impact of the distal Mean Arterial Blood Pressure (dMAP) controlled by the REBOA on the oxygen content in the fetal blood. Evaluation of the algorithm on data collected from experiments from pregnant ewe animal models exhibits mean absolute error of 0.61, 1.09, 1.42, 1.70 mmHg, and coefficient of determination of 0.95, 0.86, 0.76, 0.64 for prediction of partial pressure of oxygen in fetal arterial blood, a key predictor of fetal wellness, in 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10-minute prediction horizons, respectively.

We aimed to investigate the impact of virtual reality (VR) on maternal anxiety, satisfaction, and fetal physiological parameters during non-stress test (NST) in pregnant women. We conducted an extensive search across numerous databases to identify eligible studies from inception to April 2024. Researchers included randomized trials that compared VR intervention during NSTs in the third trimester with control groups.

Objective: The present study aimed to examine the contribution of self-compassion and perceived social support from family, partner, and friends, along with pregnancy-related variables, and concerns about the fetus and childbirth, to pregnant women's mental health, comparing two different crises.
Method: A sample of 220 women was recruited during the COVID-19 pandemic, and another sample of 224 women was recruited during the Israel-Hamas war. Participants were enrolled through a convenience sample and completed a set of self-report questionnaires.

Vasa previa is an abnormality of the umbilical cord and fetal membranes that affects ∼1 in 1300 pregnancies. The diagnosis is made by visualization of velamentous fetal vessels coursing within the membranes over the cervix unprotected by Wharton jelly or placenta. When it is not diagnosed prenatally, it is associated with a high risk of fetal death.

Introduction: Hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection poses a significant burden on pregnant women, with associated negative outcomes. Although well-described in many developed countries, the epidemiology of the disease and its impact on maternal and fetal health in Ghana is not fully understood.
Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in the antenatal clinics of 10 district hospitals in five regions of Ghana.

Background And Objectives: Research to identify fetal predictors of infant mortality among singletons born in the United States (US) concludes that poorly understood and unmeasured "confounders" produce a spurious association between fetal size and infant death. We argue that these confounders include Vanishing Twin Syndrome (VTS)-the clinical manifestation of selection against frail male twins . We test our argument in 276 monthly conception cohorts conceived in the US from January 1995 through December 2017.
