Reversible chemical covalency provides a path to materials that can degrade and recombine with appropriate stimuli and which can be used for tissue regeneration and repair. However, designing and preparing efficient and quickly self-healing materials has always been a challenge. The preparation strategies of photoresponsive gels attract a lot of attention due to their precise spatial and temporal control and their predetermined response to light stimulation. In this work, the linear copolymer PAC was synthesized via precipitation polymerization of acrylic acid and 7-(2-acrylate-ethoxylated)-4-methylcoumarin. The coumarin groups on the copolymer PAC side chains provide a reversible chemical cross-linking via photostimulation, which achieves reversible regulation of the gel network structure. The concentration of 18 wt% PAC solution produces gelation under irradiation with 365 nm. In contrast, PAC gel is restored to soluble copolymers under irradiation with 254 nm. Meanwhile, the mechanical and self-healing properties of the gel were also explored. It is demonstrated that the cracks of the gel can be repaired simply, quickly, and efficiently. Furthermore, the PAC copolymer shows an excellent adhesion property based on the reversible sol-gel transition. Thus, the PAC gel has considerable potential for applications in engineering and biomedical materials.

Luminescent materials doped with rare-earth (RE) ions have emerged as powerful tools in thermometry, offering high sensitivity and accuracy. However, challenges remain, particularly in maintaining efficient luminescence at elevated temperatures. This study investigates the thermometric properties of BiVO: Yb/Er (BVO: Er/Yb) nanophosphors synthesized the sol-gel method.

Ibuprofen sodium (IBP) is a commonly used NSAID for multiple pain conditions. However, despite its extensive use, it is associated with multiple GIT adverse effects after oral administration. In the present study, we have fabricated thermoresponsive gel depot using Poly (N-vinylcaprolactam) and sodium alginate as polymers.

Poly(-lysine)--poly(ethylene glycol)--poly(-lysine) (PLys--PEG--PLys) triblock copolymers formed polyion complex (PIC) with poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc) or sodium poly(styrenesulfonate) (PSS), leading to the formation of flower micelle-type nanoparticles (Nano or Nano) with tens of nanometers size in water at a polymer concentration of 10 mg/mL. The flower micelles exhibited irreversible temperature-driven sol-gel transitions at physiological ionic strength, even at low polymer concentrations such as 40 mg/mL, making them promising candidates for injectable hydrogel applications. Rheological studies showed that the chain length of PLys segments and the choice of polyanions significantly impacted irreversible hydrogel formation, with PSS being superior to PAAc for the formation.

In this article, we report on the alginate heterografted by Poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide-co-N-tert-butyl acrylamide) and Poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) (ALG-g-P(NIPAM86-co-NtBAM14)-g-PNIPAM) copolymer thermoresponsive hydrogel, reinforced by substituting part of the 5 wt% aqueous formulation by small amounts of Poly(acrylic acid)-g-P(boc-L-Lysine) (PAA-g-P(b-LL)) graft copolymer (up to 1 wt%). The resulting complex hydrogels were explored by oscillatory and steady-state shear rheology. The thermoresponsive profile of the formulations were affected remarkably by increasing the PAA-g-P(b-LL) component of the polymer blend.

High-nickel ternary LiNiCoMnO (NCM622) is a promising cathode material for lithium-ion batteries due to its high discharge-specific capacity and energy density. However, problems of NCM622 materials, such as unstable surface structure, lithium-nickel co-segregation, and intergranular cracking, led to a decrease in the cycling performance of the material and an inability to fully utilize high specific capacity. Surface coating was the primary approach to address these problems.
