Essential oils (EOs) extracted from aromatic or medicinal plants are biodegradable, safe, and regarded as alternatives to chemical pesticides to reduce fungal species attacking different crops. In this study, thirty EOs at 0.5 mg/mL were evaluated for in vitro growth inhibition of the main postharvest fungi, which are , , and . EO completely inhibited the mycelial growth of and , and EO completely inhibited the mycelia of . mycelial growth was completely inhibited by , , , and EOs. EO inhibited the mycelia growth of by 98%. Overall, displayed the highest sensitivity to EOs than and . , , , , , , , and EOs showed the highest inhibition for these three pathogens. Minimum inhibitory concentrations were lower for and EOs, ranging between 0.31 and 0.45 mg/mL and 0.37 to 0.57 mg/mL, respectively, against the three pathogens. The tested EOs inhibited the in vitro growth of three of the main postharvest fungal pathogens. Further studies are needed to confirm these activities in vivo.

Activation of PLCβ enzymes by G and G proteins is a common mechanism to trigger cytosolic Ca increase. We and others reported that G inhibitor FR900358 (FR) can inhibit both and G - and, surprisingly, G -mediated intracellular Ca mobilization. Thus, the G -G -PLCβ-Ca signaling axis depends entirely on the presence of active G , which reasonably explained FR-inhibited G -induced Ca release.

Infectious bacteria pose an increasing threat to public health, and hospital-acquired bacterial infections remain a significant challenge for wound healing. In this study, we developed an advanced nanoplatform utilizing copper doped magnetic vortex nanoring coated with polydopamine (Cu-MVNp) based nanotherapeutics for bacterial infection tri-therapy. This multifunctional nanoplatform exhibits remarkable dual-stimulus thermogenic capabilities and Fenton-like peroxidase activity.

Theoretically, self-control can be considered as both a facilitator of habit development and a moderator of whether behavior occurs habitually. However, debate remains on the contexts in which such relationships are likely to occur. The current study tested whether self-control, conceptualized into inhibitory and initiatory facets, would predict healthy behavior via habits or moderate the habit-behavior relationship, and whether these effects differed across complex (bootcamp attendance N = 69, physical activity in pregnant women N = 115) and simple (flossing N = 254) behaviors.

To evaluate the safety, effectiveness, and long-term efficacy of the Jinling procedure for management of refractory mixed constipation. We prospectively collected clinical data of patients with refractory mixed constipation treated by the Jinling procedure in the Institute of General Surgery of our hospital from January 2007 to August 2023. Perioperative complications, effectiveness within 1 year of surgery (as assessed by the Wexner constipation score, gastrointestinal quality of life index, frequency of spontaneous defecation, rate of satisfactory defecation, body composition, serological indicators, defecography, anorectal manometry) and 10 years after surgery (as assessed by the Wexner constipation score, patient assessment of constipation symptom, SF-36 quality of life score, and questionnaire concerning satisfaction with defecation).

Calcium release from the endoplasmic reticulum via sperm-derived phospholipase C zeta is crucial for oocyte activation during fertilization. Chloroquine (CQ) inhibits the increase in cytoplasmic calcium. This study investigated the effects of CQ on fertilization and oocyte activation.
