Anaerobic bacteria and methanogenic archaea at municipal landfill dumping sites play a vital role in the landfill ecology, waste degradation, global warming and climate change. Although landfill works as a cheap way of solid waste management, unmanaged landfill plays a significant role in spreading pollutants and pathogens in natural ecosystems. The genera and are important groups of anaerobic microbes from a public and environmental health perspective.

Lack of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) vaccine, low vaccination rates of Influenza viruses, waning immunity and viral transmission after vaccination underscore the need to reduce viral loads at their transmission sites. Oral virus transmission is several orders of magnitude higher than nasal transmission. Therefore, in this study, we evaluated neutralization of viruses using a natural viral trap protein (FRIL) formulated in clinical-grade chewing gum.

Rampant caries is identified by rapid onset, severe decay affecting multiple surfaces, and early pulp infection. This case-control study was conducted to investigate the disparities in oral microbiota between children affected by rampant caries and their caries-free counterparts. A total of 88 preschool children, with matched distribution of sex and age in both the case and control groups, participated in this study.

Background: Thai desserts, celebrated for their exquisite sweetness, are widely enjoyed for personal indulgence and as cherished souvenirs. However, their high sugar content raises concerns regarding health impacts. This study aimed to quantify the glycemic index (GI) and glycemic load (GL) in healthy volunteers following consumption of various Thai desserts, out of 10 renowned desserts from across Thailand, identified by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, characterized by differing sugar levels.
