Purpose: The multi-modality imaging system offers optimal fused images for safe and precise interventions in modern clinical practices, such as computed tomography-ultrasound (CT-US) guidance for needle insertion. However, the limited dexterity and mobility of current imaging devices hinder their integration into standardized workflows and the advancement toward fully autonomous intervention systems. In this paper, we present a novel clinical setup where robotic cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and robotic US are pre-calibrated and dynamically co-registered, enabling new clinical applications.

Purpose Of Review: Pericarditis can be a chronic and complex disease requiring years of treatment. These patients require close monitoring of labs, medications and their side effects, as well as virtual and inpatient follow up. Due to the complexity of this disease, many of these patients are treated for months and sometimes years.

Objective: Ultrasound-based velocity vector imaging (US-VVI) is a promising technique to gain insight into complex blood flow patterns that play an important role in atherosclerosis. However, in vivo validation of the 2-D velocity vector fields in the carotid bifurcation, using an adaptive velocity compounding method, is lacking. Its performance was validated in vivo against 4-D flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Ultrasound images and biological indicators, which reveal Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) characteristics in thyroid tissue from different perspectives, play crucial roles in HT recognition. Ultrasound images of patients with HT typically present a heterogeneous background with potential decreases in echogenicity. Clinicians are prone to misdiagnosing HT by visually evaluating these characteristics.

Aims: F-sodium fluoride (F-NaF) positron emission tomography (PET) detects active microcalcification and predicts adverse outcomes including bioprosthetic valve deterioration. However, measuring small areas of F-NaF uptake within moving structures remains challenging, requiring further optimization. We developed a representative cardiac phantom to optimize F-NaF imaging of bioprosthetic valves.
