Spinal cord injury (SCI) has deleterious effects on quality of life and vocation. A partial or complete loss of sensory and motor functions below the site of injury is a potential clinical sign of SCI. Trunk and pelvic control are crucial for balance and gait to perform vocational tasks of daily living. In this case report, a 40-year-old male with traumatic incomplete paraplegia (AIS Grade C, neurological level T6) received 45 min of intervention per session, which included pelvic proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation combined with core strengthening exercises 5 times a week for 4 weeks. Baseline and postassessments were done for trunk control with the trunk control test for SCI, balance with the Berg Balance Scale (BBS) and the SCI-functional ambulation inventory (SCI-FAI), and gait with the walking index for SCI II (WISCI). After 4 weeks of intervention, there were significant differences between baseline and postintervention scores on the trunk control test for SCI (16-18), WISCI (Level 1-2), SCI-FAI (03-06), and BBS (04-08). This is the first case report that enabled and promoted potentiate intervention to improve trunk control, balance, and gait in paraplegics. This outcome motivates additional research on its therapeutic potential and mechanism.

This study analyzed the effects of an 8-week diaphragmatic core training program on postural stability during high-intensity squats and examined its efficacy in injury prevention and performance enhancement. Thirty-seven male participants were randomly assigned to three groups: diaphragmatic core training group (DCTG, n = 12), core training group (CTG, n = 13), and control group (CG, n = 12). Outcome measurements included diaphragm thickness, respiratory function (mean and maximal respiratory pressures), and squat postural stability (distance between the sacral and upper body center points, peak trunk extension moment, peak knee flexion moment, and dynamic postural stability index).

This study examined the erector spinae contractile properties, trunk isokinetic strength, and differences in acute muscle fatigue response after exercise in young females with and without non-specific chronic low back pain (NSCLBP). This study evaluated participants using tensiomyography and isokinetic trunk strength tests. An independent -test compared the control group and the NSCLBP group, while a two-way mixed ANOVA analyzed differences in the erector spinae's acute muscle fatigue response before and after exercise within and between groups.

This was an original article, and mainly evaluated the impacts of Buzhong Yiqi decoction and biofeedback electrical stimulation on pelvic floor muscle strength and the quality of life in patients with postpartum stress urinary incontinence (PSUI). PSUI patients (total = 256) were randomly selected into a control group and study group. The control group adopted pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation training only while the study group added Buzhong Yiqi decoction and biofeedback electrical stimulation.
