In this study, new insights into the all-dry synthesis of the LiNiMnCoO (NMC622) cathode using a single-phase rock-salt (RS) oxide precursor are provided. It was found that use of a larger amount of excess Li content not only can enhance the electrochemical performance of NMC made from the RS-precursor but also increase the degree of homogeneity of the NMC cathode material. XRD analysis showed that lithiation of the RS-precursor (, formation of the O3-phase) starts at a higher synthesis temperature (∼450 °C) than that is required when using a hydroxide precursor (HP) and lithium carbonate (∼350 °C). Consequently, LiCO was consumed by the reaction with the HP at low temperatures before the temperature reached the LiCO melting point. In contrast, the reduced lithiation kinetics of the RS-precursor results in the presence of liquid LiCO during the synthesis, which rapidly increases the rates of precursor lithiation and increases the NMC primary particle size.

Multi-valued logic (MVL) circuits based on heterojunction transistor (HTR) have emerged as an effective strategy for high-density information processing without increasing the circuit complexity. Herein, an organic ternary logic inverter (T-inverter) is demonstrated, where a nonvolatile floating-gate flash memory is employed to control the channel conductance systematically, thus realizing the stabilized T-inverter operation. The 3-dimensional (3D) T-inverter is fabricated in a vertically stacked form based on all-dry processes, which enables the high-density integration with high device uniformity.

In laboratory experiments, the nitrogen migration and transformation in the stormwater bioretention system under different dry-wet alterations were studied. The removal efficiency showed that nitrogen could be removed efficiently in bioretention system under all dry-wet alterations, and the shorter antecedent dry days (ADDs) (1-5 days) were beneficial to the removal of nitrogen before plants decay, compared to the longer ADDs (7-22 days). Using a new method combined with Hydrus-1D model, water transport was simulated and nitrogen migration in bioretention system was quantified, indicating that NH-N was mainly removed in the planting layer, and the removal of NO-N was occurred in the submerged layer.

Mice are impaired relative to rats in place and matching-to-place learning when tests are given in a swimming pool. The rat advantage may stem from a superior spatial ability or from adaptation to a niche that has prepared them for competency in the water. In the present study, mice (C57BL/6) were compared with rats (Long-Evans) in a number of dry-land spatial tasks given on a radial arm maze and in a place task given in a swimming pool.
