Tuning CO hydrogenation product distribution to obtain high-selectivity target products is of great significance. However, due to the imprecise regulation of chain propagation and hydrogenation reactions, the oriented synthesis of a single product is challenging. Herein, we report an approach to controlling multiple sites with graphene fence engineering that enables direct conversion of CO/H mixtures into different types of hydrocarbons. Fe-Co active sites on the graphene fence surface present 50.1% light olefin selectivity, while the spatial Fe-Co nanoparticles separated by graphene fences achieve liquefied petroleum gas of 43.6%. With the assistance of graphene fences, iron carbides and metallic cobalt can efficiently regulate C-C coupling and olefin secondary hydrogenation reactions to achieve product-selective switching between light olefins and liquefied petroleum gas. Furthermore, it also creates a precedent for CO direct hydrogenation to liquefied petroleum gas via a Fischer-Tropsch pathway with the highest space-time yields compared to other reported composite catalysts.

Addressing methane emissions across the liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply chain is key to reducing climate impacts of LNG. Actions to address methane emissions have emphasized the importance of the use of measurement-informed emissions inventories given the systematic underestimation in official greenhouse gas (GHG) emission inventories. Despite significant progress in field measurements of GHG emissions across the natural gas supply chain, no detailed measurements at US liquefaction terminals are publicly available.

To analyze the prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and influencing factors of adults in Hebei Province, and provide scientific evidence for the development of comprehensive CKD prevention and control strategies. In China Adult Chronic Disease and Nutrition Surveillance in Hebei in 2018, a total of 7 562 permanent residents aged ≥18 years were selected by multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling from 13 surveillance points in Hebei for questionnaire survey, medical examination and laboratory test. A total of 1 067 CKD patients were detected in the adults aged ≥18 years in this survey, with a weighted prevalence rate of 12.

Exposure Contrasts of Women Aged 40-79 Years during the Household Air Pollution Intervention Network Randomized Controlled Trial.

Division of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health, University of California, Berkeley, California 94609, United States.

Exposure to household air pollution has been linked to adverse health outcomes among women aged 40-79. Little is known about how shifting from biomass cooking to a cleaner fuel like liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) could impact exposures for this population. We report 24-h exposures to particulate matter (PM), black carbon (BC), and carbon monoxide (CO) among women aged 40 to <80 years participating in the Household Air Pollution Intervention Network trial.

Porous liquids have traditionally been designed with sterically hindered solvents. Alternatively, recent efforts rely on dispersing microporous frameworks in simpler solvents like water. Here we report a unique strategy to construct macroporous water by selectively incorporating hydrophilicity on the surfaces of hydrophobic hollow carbon spheres (HCS).

Fracture Toughness Behaviour of Nickel Alloy Steel 1.5662.

Materials (Basel)

December 2024

IWT-Solutions AG, Mozartstraße 2A, 52064 Aachen, Germany.

Nickel significantly increases the toughness of steel and makes it ideal for use in applications that require high impact and fracture resistance at low temperatures. These inherent advantages position nickel steel as indispensable material in various domains, with a pronounced presence in stationary Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) tanks and in the shipbuilding industry, particularly for tanks in vessels intended for the transport of liquefied ethane and LNG. The presented study focuses on assessing the fracture toughness behaviour of nickel alloy steel 1.
