Two novel alkaloids were identified as (E)-N-(4-3,4-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-5-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)oxy)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)oxy)-2,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acrylamide , named Oleracrylimide D, (E)-N-(4-3,4-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-5-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)oxy)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)oxy)-2,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-3-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)acrylamide , named Oleracrylimide E, isolated from L. The structures were identified by spectroscopic methods, including 1D NMR, 2D NMR, and UHPLC-ESI-QTOF/MS methods, also, the anti-inflammatory bioactivities of the compounds were studied by ELISA method.

Novel anthropometric indices are more closely related to metabolic abnormalities than traditional anthropometric indices. Fewer studies have been conducted based on the relationship between novel anthropometric indicators and hyperuricemia. This study was to analyze the serum uric acid (SUA) levels of adults and the relationship between hyperuricemia and these new indicators in Su-Wuxi-Chang area of China, in order to provide a theoretical basis for the management of SUA levels in patients with hyperuricemia.

Three novel quinoline alkaloids from Tetradium glabrifolium and their antibacterial activities.

Chem Biodivers

January 2025

Guizhou Medical University, State Key Laboratory of Functions and Applications of Medicinal Plants, , 550014, 436831, Guiyang, CHINA.

Three novel quinoline alkaloids, tetradiunitiside A (1), tetradiunitiside B (2), glycohaplopine-6-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside (3), along with eight known ones (4-11) were isolated from the fruits of Tetradium glabrifolium. Their structures were inferred by IR, 1D NMR and 2D NMR and HR-ESI-MS spectra. All the isolated compounds were evaluated for the antibacterial activities.

The okaramine family of compounds, a class of alkaloids with broad-spectrum insecticidal activity, has been discovered from species of and . These okaramines, characterized by their complex structures and diverse biological activities, have attracted widespread attention from biologists and chemists. To date, only a few okaramines have been synthesized, notably the highly active okaramines A and B, which feature a polycyclic skeleton, including an azocine ring and an unprecedented 2-dimethyl-3-methyl-azetidine ring.

Despite promising preliminary biology, natural products isolation efforts may be confounded when the active compound is not isolated during bioassay-guided purification or classical pharmacognostic research investigations. A more rational isolation procedure connecting the polypharmacology of an herb to its individual constituents must be applied to better detect bioactive molecules before tedious analytical steps are considered. While (yohimbe) has been traditionally used in herbal medicine as a general tonic, an aphrodisiac, a performance enhancer, and an integral part of various dietary supplements, the hydroethanolic extract of yohimbe was identified to possess at least 3-4-fold induction of the pregnane X receptor (PXR) at 30 μg/mL, a key nuclear receptor implicated in adverse interactions, .

Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the ability of Ramulus Mori (Sangzhi) alkaloid tablets (SZ-A) to ameliorate obesity and lipid metabolism disorders in rats subjected to a high-fat diet (HFD) through metagenomics, untargeted lipidomics, targeted metabolism of bile acid (BA), and BA pathways, providing a novel perspective on the management of metabolic disorders.

Methods: In this research, HFD-fed rats were concurrently administered SZ-A orally. We measured changes in body weight (BW), blood lipid profiles, and liver function to assess therapeutic effects.
