Background: The study is aimed at developing a method for monitoring photodynamic therapy (PDT) of a tumor using chlorin-type photosensitizers (PSs). Lack of monitoring of chlorin e6 (Cе6) photobleaching, hemoglobin oxygenation and blood flow during light exposure can limit the PDT effectiveness.
Materials And Methods: Phototheranostics includes spectral-fluorescence diagnostics of Ce6 distribution in the NIR range and PDT with simultaneous assessment of hemoglobin oxygenation and tumor blood flow. Fluorescence diagnostics and PDT were performed using the single laser λ=660 ± 5 nm.
Results: Combined spectroscopic PDT monitoring method allowed simultaneous estimation of Ce6 photobleaching, hemoglobin oxygenation and tumor vascular thrombosis during PDT without interrupting the therapeutic light exposure.
Conclusion: The developed method of tumor phototheranostics using chlorin-type PSs may make it possible to personalize the duration of therapeutic light exposure during PDT.

Introduction: Within normal variation, higher hemoglobin (Hb) levels are associated with poorer metabolic profile in population cohorts, underlying the link between oxygen delivery and cell metabolism. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder among women and is commonly accompanied by metabolic derangements. In this study we sought to investigate Hb levels, and their metabolic associations, in women with PCOS.

Currently, the barrier to successful lung transplantation is ischemia and reperfusion injury, which can lead to the development of bronchiolitis obliterans. Paclitaxel and methotrexate are drugs known to inhibit cell proliferation and have anti-inflammatory effects, and the association of these drugs with cholesterol-rich nanoparticles has been shown to be beneficial in the treatment of other transplanted organs. Thirty-three male Sprague Dawley rats were divided into 3 groups: Basal group, no intervention; Control group, received only nanoparticles; Drug group, paclitaxel and methotrexate treatment.

Resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC) has been essential to elucidate the intricacy of brain organization, further revealing clinical biomarkers of neurological disorders. Although functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) remains a cornerstone in the field of rsFC recordings, its interpretation is often hindered by the convoluted physiological origin of the blood-oxygen-level-dependent (BOLD) contrast affected by multiple factors. Here, we capitalize on the unique concurrent multiparametric hemodynamic recordings of a hybrid magnetic resonance optoacoustic tomography platform to comprehensively characterize rsFC in female mice.

Purpose: To investigate the protective effect of sub-hypothermic mechanical perfusion combined with membrane lung oxygenation on ischemic hypoxic injury of yorkshire brain tissue caused by traumatic blood loss.
Methods: This article performed a random controlled trial. Brain tissue of 7 yorkshire was selected and divided into the sub-low temperature anterograde machine perfusion group (n = 4) and the blank control group (n = 3) using the random number table method.

Background: Albumin, a vital component in regulating human blood oncotic pressure, plays an important role in the prediction of prognosis in pediatric patients.Previous research identified significant differences in serum albumin levels of healthy and critically ill children.
Methods: The present study aims to investigate the correlation between albumin levels measured during pediatric intensive care unit(PICU) admission and clinical outcomes.
