Background & Aims: Evaluating cardiovascular safety of sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) receptor modulators is warranted due to S1P receptor expression on cardiomyocytes and vascular endothelial cells. This analysis reports the cardiovascular safety of ozanimod, an S1P receptor modulator, in patients with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis from the phase 3 True North (TN) and open-label extension (OLE).
Methods: All patients who received ozanimod in TN (n = 796) and all eligible TN patients who entered the OLE (n = 823) were included.

An 88-year-old Japanese woman underwent DDD pacemaker (MicroPort KORA 250 DR, V lead: VEGA R52) implantation for complete atrioventricular block. A 12-lead electrocardiogram for a routine examination showed atrial pacing within the intrinsic P wave, followed by inhibition of ventricular pacing. Pacemaker interrogation revealed no abnormalities in the basic parameters; however, ventricular pacing was inhibited by far-field sensing of intrinsic atrial waves before atrial events; type II far-field P-wave sensing.

Neuromuscular disorders are a heterogeneous group of acquired or hereditary conditions that affect striated muscle function. The resulting decrease in muscle strength and motility irreversibly impacts quality of life. In addition to directly affecting skeletal muscle, pathogenesis can also arise from dysfunctional crosstalk between nerves and muscles, and may include cardiac impairment.
