From cyclotron frequency ratios of HD^{+}/^{3}He^{+}, HD^{+}/T^{+}, and T^{+}/^{3}He^{+} we measure the mass difference between atoms of T and ^{3}He to be 1.995 940 8 (23)×10^{-5} u, corresponding to a Q value for tritium β decay of 18 592.071(22) eV. This enables an improved check on systematics of β decay experiments that set limits on neutrino mass. Using the HD^{+} mass calculated from the atomic masses of the proton and deuteron as given by Rau et al. [Nature 585, 43 (2020)NATUAS0028-083610.1038/s41586-020-2628-7], we also obtain improved atomic masses for the triton and helion (considered to be fundamental constants), namely, 3.015 500 716 066 (39) and 3.014 932 246 957 (38) u.

Microalgae-based flue gas CO sequestration for cleaner environment and biofuel feedstock production: a review.

Environ Sci Pollut Res Int

January 2025

Biorefinery and Bioenergy Research Laboratory, Centre for Plant and Environmental Biotechnology, Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, 201313, India.

Anthropogenic CO emissions are the prime cause of global warming and climate change, promoting researchers to develop suitable technologies to reduce carbon footprints. Among various CO sequestration technologies, microalgal-based methods are found to be promising due to their easier operation, environmental benefits, and simpler equipment requirements. Microalgae-based carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology is essential for addressing challenges related to the use of industrial-emitted flue gases.

The effect of bedtime snacks on morning fasting blood glucose in gestational diabetes mellitus: a randomized controlled trial.

Acta Diabetol

January 2025

Department of Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health, School of Public Health, Anhui Medical University, No. 81 Meishan Road, Hefei, 230032, Anhui, China.

Importance: While guidelines recommend bedtime snacks for women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), there is insufficient evidence championed those recommendation.

Objective: To evaluate if bedtime snacking is effective in preventing high fasting blood glucose incidence among women with GDM.

Design: An open-label, parallel-group, randomized controlled trial was conducted from December 2023 to July 2024 at Ma'anshan Maternal and Child Health Care Center, Anhui, China.

Objective: To identify associations between the occurrence of sacrocaudal fusion and the potential morphology of certain hind limb bones in actively racing greyhounds.

Methods: The calcaneus, talus and patella from each hind limb were collected from 94 male and 77 female mature greyhound cadavers and grouped into four groups; right or left bones from greyhounds with a standard or fused sacrum. The measurements were recorded for the following parameters: body mass of the greyhound, mass, length, and width of the right and left calcanei, tali and patellae.

Introduction: Chronic kidney disease-mineral and bone disorder (CKD-MBD), is a common syndrome in end stage kidney disease (ESKD) patients, is marked by dysregulation of electrolytes and hormones, including calcium, phosphorus and parathyroid hormone (PTH). Calcimemetics are a cornerstone of PTH lowering therapy; cinacalcet, an oral calcimemetic, is the most used and typically prescribed as a daily administration, thus contributing to the high total pill burden of this population. Recent clinical trials have provided evidence that administration of cinacalcet at the dialysis unit three times a week might be a safe and effective treatment option.
