Context: Hepatocyte nuclear factor (HNF)-4α is a marker of gastrointestinal tumor differentiation; however, its expression in endocervical tumors remains unclear.
Objective: We aimed to assess the utility of HNF4α expression as a marker for endocervical adenocarcinomas (ECAs) and adenocarcinoma in situs (AISs), and to establish a minimal panel for distinguishing them from nonneoplastic endocervical glandular lesions and metastases.
Design: HNF4α expression was analyzed immunohistochemically (positive, H-score ≥10) in 323 tissue samples: 57 endocervical neoplasms including 35 glandular neoplasms and 22 squamous neoplasms, 144 nonneoplastic endocervical lesions, and 122 tumors from other organs.

Background: Special AT-rich binding protein-2 (SATB2) is a nuclear matrix associated protein regulating gene expression which is normally expressed in colonic tissue. Loss of SATB2 expression in colorectal cancer (CRC) has negative implications for prognosis and has been associated with chemotherapy resistance. Furthermore, recent evidence suggests SATB2 may influence immune checkpoint (IC) expression.

Inflammation can positively and negatively affect tumorigenesis based on the duration, scope, and sequence of related events through the regulation of signaling pathways. A transcriptomic analysis of five pulmonary arterial hypertension, twelve Crohn's disease, and twelve ulcerative colitis high throughput sequencing datasets using R language specialized libraries and gene enrichment analyses identified a regulatory network in each inflammatory disease. IRF9 and LINC01089 in pulmonary arterial hypertension are related to the regulation of signaling pathways like MAPK, NOTCH, human papillomavirus, and hepatitis c infection.

Background: Juvenile granulosa cell tumor (JGCT) of the ovary is a rare tumor with distinct clinicopathological and hormonal features primarily affecting young women and children. We conducted a complex clinicopathological, immunohistochemical, and molecular analysis of five cases of JGCT.
Methods: The immunohistochemical examination was performed with 32 markers, including markers that have not been previously investigated.

Pyramidal cells (PCs) in CA1 hippocampus can be classified by their radial position as deep or superficial and organize into subtype-specific circuits necessary for differential information processing. Specifically, superficial PCs receive fewer inhibitory synapses from parvalbumin (PV)-expressing interneurons than deep PCs, resulting in weaker feedforward inhibition of input from CA3 Schaffer collaterals. Using mice, we investigated mechanisms underlying CA1 PC differentiation and the development of this inhibitory circuit motif.
