In pristine graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN), amino groups often function as structural defects that trap photogenerated charges, resulting in low photocatalytic activity as well as reaction with nitrite, aldehyde, etc., ensuing in poor product yield. Without significantly altering the optical characteristics, the removal of amino groups is necessary to increase the photocatalytic activity and structural stability of pristine g-CN. The deamino graphitic carbon nitride () was prepared by -butyl nitrite (TBN)-treatment, characterized and used as a photocatalyst for the radical C-H arylation of heteroarenes using anilines as radical source. Indeed, the photophysical characteristics of and those of pristine g-CN are very comparable, except that has a fewer residual amino groups, higher crystallinity, and compressed structure with a different morphology. Moreover, -catalyzed C-H arylation reaction offers greater product yield in a shorter reaction time compared to that of pristine g-CN in the coupling between heteroarenes and the in situ generated aryl diazonium salts from anilines under visible light irradiation. The amino groups in pristine g-CN absorbed the TBN that was added to convert aniline into the appropriate diazonium ions during the reaction. As a result, deamino graphitic carbon nitride produced by chemical treatment has better photophysical properties and catalytic activity than pristine g-CN. Additionally, this is the first method that uses diazotization reaction for the preparation of deamino graphitic carbon nitride, as far as we are aware.

Numerous unregulated organic compounds (UOCs) including pharmaceuticals, opioids, and personal care products (PCPs) end up in wastewater. UOC presence in biosolids (a wastewater treatment byproduct), which are applied to soil for different reasons raises environmental and health risk concerns. In this study, two multi-class extraction methods were developed and validated to target 111 UOCs from 8 different major families simultaneously in biosolids and biosolids-impacted soil.

Acoustical properties are essential for understanding the molecular interactions in fluids, as they influence the physicochemical behavior of liquids and determine their suitability for diverse applications. This study investigated the acoustical parameters of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs), reduced graphene oxide (rGO), and Ag/rGO nanocomposite nanofluids at varying concentrations. Ag NPs and Ag/rGO nanocomposites were synthesized via a Bos taurus indicus (BTI) metabolic waste-assisted method and characterized using advanced techniques, including XRD, TEM, Raman, DLS, zeta potential, and XPS.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder with a very long duration, posing a serious threat to people's life and health. To date, no medicine that can cure or reverse the disease has been developed or reported, so early diagnosis and timely intervention are essential. The concentration of Phosphorylated tau181 (P-tau181) in blood has been approved by FDA as a standard for assisting clinical diagnosis of AD.

Background: Estriol (E3) is a common estrogen responsible for regulating the female reproductive system, but excessive amount can pose health risks to humans and wild life. Therefore, sensitive and accurate detection of estriol level is crucial. A novel competitive ECL immunosensor based on a dual signal amplification strategy of AuNPs@GO@SmMoSe and Gd(MoO) was fabricated for ultrasensitive detection of estriol.

Graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) has been regarded as highly potential photocatalyst for solar energy utilization. However, the restricted absorption of visible light for pristine g-CN significantly limits the solar-light-driven chemical reaction efficiency. Herein, structurally distorted g-CN nanosheets with awakened n-π* electron transition were successfully synthesized through hexamethylenetetramine (HMTA)-involved supercritical CO (scCO) treatment and following pyrolysis of melamine precursor.
