The genome sequence of a bluebottle, (Linnaeus, 1758).

Wellcome Open Res

Natural History Museum, London, UK.

Published: February 2023

We present a genome assembly from an individual male (a bluebottle; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Calliphoridae). The genome sequence is 708 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into six chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the assembled X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 16.2 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 12,917 protein coding genes.
