N-of-1 trials are currently receiving broader attention in healthcare research when assessing the effectiveness of interventions. In contrast to the most commonly applied two-arm randomized controlled trial (RCT), in an N-of-1 design, the individual acts as their own control condition in the sense of a multiple crossover trial. N-of-1 trials can lead to a higher quality of patient by examining the effectiveness of an intervention at an individual level.

Background: A substantial subset of patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) experience treatment-resistant depression (TRD), typically defined as failure to respond to at least two sequential antidepressant trials at adequate dose and length.
Aims: To examine clinical and service-level associations of TRD, and the experiences of people with TRD and clinicians involved in their care within a large, diverse National Health Service trust in the UK.
Method: This mixed-methods study integrated quantitative analysis of electronic health records with thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews.

Background: Selective trunk block (SeTB) targets the three trunks of the brachial plexus and produces surgical anaesthesia of the entire upper extremity, including the shoulder. However, the optimal dose of local anaesthetic (LA) required for a SeTB is not known.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the minimum effective volume 90% (MEV90) of LA required for a SeTB.

Background: COPD patients suffering from malnutrition or sarcopenia often incur higher healthcare costs and experience adverse clinical outcomes. Despite this, the effectiveness of nutrient supplements in this population remains uncertain.
Methods And Analysis: Two reviewers will independently search seven databases-PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, and the Cochrane Library-for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published before August 31, 2024.

Aim: Circulating platelets are essential in hemostasis, thrombosis, and immune responses. Modifications in platelet function may impact immunological reactions to dental biofilm and cardiovascular health. Understanding changes in platelet status and activity in patients with periodontitis is still a subject of investigation.
