Background: This study aims to develop a nomogram and forecast the incidence of DVT in individuals suffering from an intertrochanteric femur fracture.
Method: This work created a nomogram using the R programming language and employed logistic regression to determine independent predicting features. An external validation dataset was used to validate the nomogram.
Result: The findings demonstrated the independence of LYM (0.02[0.01-0.09], p < 0.001), ALB (0.83[0.74, 0.94], p = 0.002), and HDL-C (0.18[0.04, 0.71], p = 0.014). Good prediction performance with modest errors was shown by the nomogram in both the training and validation groups.
Conclusion: In conclusion, the nomogram that was created using HDL-C, ALB, and LYM can assist medical professionals in determining the likelihood that DVT will occur.

The aim was to study the independent risk factors of internal fixation failure in proximal femoral anti-rotation intramedullary nailing for intertrochanteric femur fracture, and to build a nomogram prediction model accordingly. Clinical data of patients with intertrochanteric femoral rotor fractures admitted to the First People's Hospital of Longquanyi District from January 2018 to January 2023 were retrospectively collected. The occurrence of spiral blade cut out, internal fixation breakage, peri-internal fixation fracture, hip internal rotation deformity, and fracture nonunion within 1 year after surgery were included in the internal fixation failure group, and the rest were included in the internal fixation success group.

Background: Osteoporosis is characteristically defined as a decrease in bone density and mass, accompanied by the deterioration of bone structure, which increases bone fragility and the risk of fractures. Osteoporosis frequently develops with age. In high-risk populations, oxidative damage is a common pathological condition.

Background: This study aimed to analyze the files of patients treated using PFN-A or INTERTAN intramedullary nails to reveal additional superiorities or disadvantageous factors for selecting the better intramedullary fixation method in patients presenting with intertrochanteric femur fractures.
Methods: In this retrospective study, the files of the patients who were operated on for intertrochanteric femur fractures using intramedullary fixation methods between September 2010 and June 2015 in the Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic, Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, were reviewed. The data including age, gender, chronic diseases, causes of fractures, fracture classification based on Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO), the nail type (long or short), the interval between trauma and surgery, duration of anesthesia and surgery, hospitalization duration, amount of blood transfusion, the Tip-Apex Distance (TAD) in postoperative radiographs, functional outcomes according to Harris Hip Score (HHS) and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), postoperative complications, need for revision, and mortality was noted.

Background: Recently researches have reported that miRNA and its target genes are associated with osteoporosis. MiRNA and mRNA might be potential diagnostic markers for osteoporosis.
Purposes: The aim of this study is to explore the potential miRNA and mRNA markers by bioinformatics method and clinical analysis.

Objective: Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) is extensively utilized in managing hidden bleeding following an intertrochanteric femur fracture (IFF). Despite its widespread use, the most effective CHM approach for addressing hidden bleeding post-IFF remains unclear. A Bayesian network meta-analysis was conducted to identify a CHM that both effectively reduces hidden bleeding and stabilizes blood volume after IFF.
