Whitish-blue light emitting fluorescent ZIF-8 structures were synthesized by means of bis-carboxylate functional calix[4]pyrrole (BCCP) modification. The calix[4]pyrrole concentration was also manipulated to tune the sizes of the ZIF-8 structures. Moreover, the BCCP-modified ZIF-8 samples exhibited enhanced organic micropollutant removal capacity from aqueous solutions.

Rapid and accurate detection of Escherichia coli (E. coli) is critical for maintaining water quality, and protecting aquatic ecosystems and public health. This research focuses on the development of a Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET)-based "turn-on" fluorescent nanosensor for real time, sensitive detection of E.

Gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) have been widely investigated because of their unique photoluminescence properties. However, the applications of AuNCs are limited by their poor stability and relatively low fluorescence. In the present work, we developed nanocomposites (L-Cys-AuNCs@ZIF-8) with high fluorescence and stability, which were constructed by encapsulating the water-dispersible L-Cys-AuNCs into a ZIF-8 via Zn-triggered growth strategy without high temperature and pressure.

Understanding the impact of nanomaterials on drug-protein/cell interactions is crucial for comprehending their in vivo biological effects. We investigated the impact of zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF)-8 on the interaction between curcumin (Cur) and human serum albumin (HSA) using various spectroscopic techniques and molecular docking. Additionally, we examined its effect on drug-cell interaction using HepG2 cells and Escherichia coli (E.

In this study, an intelligent nanoparticle system (CCM+TTD@ZIF-8 NPs) was prepared using curcumin (CCM), an aggregation-induced emission luminogens (TTD), and ZIF-8 for infection-induced wound healing. The CCM+TTD@ZIF-8 NPs showed multiple functions, including bacteria targeting, fluorescence imaging and pH response-guided photodynamic therapy (PDT), and anti-inflammatory.

The development of fluorescent sensors with high sensitivity and fast response times is attracting the interest of more and more researchers. Herein, dual-emission ratiometric molecularly imprinted fluorescent encoded microspheres were fabricated and applied for the fast detection of norfloxacin. Core-shell-structured imprinted polymers with ZIF-8 as the supporting core were obtained first and two quantum dots with green and red emission provided the fluorescent signal.
