The complete genome of was sequenced. The genome size is 4.02 Mbp, including 3886286 bp circular chromosome and four circular plasmids (31516, 42453, 38085 and 24903 bp). It included 3718 protein-coding sequences, 45 tRNA genes, three sets of rRNA genes, a microcystin biosynthesis gene cluster and six CRISPR (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat). is the only one genus in the Chroococcales that makes filamentous colonies. FraC and FraG were identified in the genome. These genes are required for the integrity of cell junctions and influencing filament integrity and are thought to be related to colony formation. These genes are first reported from Chroococcales, and may play a significant role in the colony formation of this species. In the phylogenetic tree of the FraC gene, was located in the basal position of Oscillatoriales. The GC ratio of FraC gene of is very low from the genome and the FraC gene of Microcoleaceae. The presence of these genes in the basal region and the low GC ratio suggests that the FraC gene in this species was introduced by horizontal gene transfer. Since the filamentous colony is a fundamental and important taxonomic feature for the classification of cyanobacteria, the possibility of horizontal transmission of genes involved in filamentous cyanobacterial colonies is an important discovery for the classification of cyanobacteria.

In recent years, increasingly stringent pesticide regulations have made the development of new chemistries challenging. Under these regulations, the new fungicide ipflufenoquin (FRAC Code 52) was first released in Japan. Its mode of action is new; it inhibits dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH), a key enzyme in the biosynthesis of pyrimidine-based nucleotides.

Alternative splicing (AS) alters the -regulatory landscape of mRNA isoforms, leading to transcripts with distinct localization, stability, and translational efficiency. To rigorously investigate mRNA isoform-specific ribosome association, we generated subcellular fractionation and sequencing (Frac-seq) libraries using both conventional short reads and long reads from human embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and neural progenitor cells (NPCs) derived from the same ESCs. We performed de novo transcriptome assembly from high-confidence long reads from cytosolic, monosomal, light, and heavy polyribosomal fractions and quantified their abundance using short reads from their respective subcellular fractions.

Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO NPs) are widely used in several consumer products. However, because of their neurotoxic nature, exposure to TiO NPs could impair locomotor behavior. Whether the impairment in locomotor behavior caused by TiO NPs exposure is sustained and the effects is gender-specific has remained elusive, warranting further studies to elucidate the underlying mechanisms.

The repetitive use of quinone outside inhibitor fungicides (QoIs, strobilurins; Fungicide Resistance Action Committee [FRAC] 11) to manage grape powdery mildew has led to development of resistance in . While several point mutations in the mitochondrial cytochrome gene are associated with resistance to QoI fungicides, the substitution of glycine to alanine at codon 143 (G143A) has been the only mutation observed in QoI-resistant field populations. Allele-specific detection methods such as digital droplet PCR and TaqMan probe-based assays can be used to detect the G143A mutation.
