Tuberculosis is caused by an infectious bacterium and it has significant morbidity and mortality rates globally. It mostly affects the lungs, but it can also spread to other parts of the body, like the lymph nodes (tuberculous lymphadenitis). The most common way to treat it is with the RIPE regimen, which includes rifampin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide, and ethambutol. The drugs can be slowly or rapidly metabolized, resulting in either increased toxicity or subtherapeutic drug levels. In this paper, we discuss the case of a slow responder who was treated with increased rifampin and isoniazid doses and improved clinically and biochemically. It's the first case of a slow responder diagnosed with tuberculous lymphadenitis reported in the Gulf region.

Background: Angiosarcoma is a rapidly proliferating vascular tumor that originates in endothelial cells of vessels. Rarely, it can be associated with consumptive coagulopathy due to disseminated intravascular coagulation eventually leading to thrombocytopenia and microangiopathic hemolytic anemia. This specific manifestation is termed Kasabach-Merritt syndrome.

In cats, mycobacteriosis tends to present in a syndromic manner, with cases either being due to tuberculosis (TB) (in countries where TB is endemic), one of the "leprosy-like" diseases affecting the skin and subcutis, panniculitis caused by infection of subcutaneous tissues generally with rapidly growing Mycobacteria spp. or widely disseminated granulomatous disease, which is usually caused by members of the Mycobacterium avium-intracellulare complex (MAC). Disseminated MAC disease is rare, but when it occurs, usually develops in immunocompromised hosts with defective cell-mediated immunity.
