When the weak forces producing parity-violating effects are taken into account, there is a tiny energy difference between the total electronic energies of two enantiomers (Δ), which might be the key to understanding the evolution of the biological homochirality. We focus on the electronic chirality measure (ECM), a powerful descriptor based on the electronic charge density, for quantifying the chirality degree of a molecule, in a representative set of chiral molecules, together with their energies. Our results show a novel, strong, and correlation between Δ and ECM, supporting a subtle interplay between the weak forces acting within the nuclei of a given molecule and its chirality. These findings suggest that experimental investigations for molecular parity violation detection should consider molecules with ECM values as large as possible and may support that a chiral signature is imprinted on life by fundamental physics via the parity-violating weak interactions.

Machine learning algorithms have proven to be effective for essential quantum computation tasks such as quantum error correction and quantum control. Efficient hardware implementation of these algorithms at cryogenic temperatures is essential. Here we utilize magnetic topological insulators as memristors (termed magnetic topological memristors) and introduce a cryogenic in-memory computing scheme based on the coexistence of a chiral edge state and a topological surface state.

2D Dion-Jacobson (DJ) chiral perovskite materials exhibit significant promise for developing high-performance circularly polarized light (CPL) photodetectors. However, the inherently thick nature of DJ-phase 2D perovskite single crystal limits their ability to differentiate CPL photons with the two opposite polarization states. In addition, the growth of DJ-phase perovskite single crystal thin films (SCTFs) has proven challenging due to the strong interlayer electronic coupling.

Glycohybrids are biologically significant molecules with variety of biological functions and are found as structural motifs in numerous natural products. Here, we report the synthesis of various new coumarin-based O-glycoconjugates as glycohybrids that are chirally enriched and bridged by 1,2,3-triazoles ring system. The1,2,3-triazoles bridging was done via CuAAC click-chemistry.

In recent years, the chiral biological effects of nanomedicines have garnered significant interest. Research has focused on understanding how material chirality affects cellular transcription and metabolism. Stress granules, which are membraneless organelles formed through liquid-liquid phase separation of G3BP1 proteins and related compartments, have been extensively studied and are closely associated with cellular damage repair and metabolism.
