TbPrAlare ferrimagnetic materials exhibiting magnetocaloric effect that have gained considerable attention due to their potential use as an alternative in refrigeration, magnetic sensors and in information storage technology. Here using the mean field approach numerical simulations were conducted for= 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, and 0.75, to analyze selected physical properties, such as x-ray and neutron powder diffraction, magnetization and heat capacity. The simulations successfully reproduced the experimental data providing a comprehensive characterization and improved understanding of this family of compound.

An anisotropic plasmonic trimer is proposed as an effective spectroscopic amplifier for the maximum signal enhancement of the Hyper-Raman Scattering (HRS) process. The three-particle system is composed of asymmetric Au nanorings arranged collinearly in a J-aggregate configuration and illuminated by a longitudinally polarized light. The optical properties of the considered trimer have been numerically simulated by the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method.

This study aimed to investigate the influence of different coarse aggregate mineral compositions on the skid resistance performance of asphalt pavement. The imprint method was utilized to assess the contact probability between various graded asphalt surface aggregates and tires. Additionally, macroscopic adhesive friction coefficients between polished surfaces of three types of rock slabs (basalt, limestone, granite) and rubber were determined using a pendulum friction tester.

Researchers have explored the performance of Iterated Prisoner's Dilemma strategies for decades, from the celebrated performance of Tit for Tat to the introduction of the zero-determinant strategies and the use of sophisticated learning structures such as neural networks. Many new strategies have been introduced and tested in a variety of tournaments and population dynamics. Typical results in the literature, however, rely on performance against a small number of somewhat arbitrarily selected strategies, casting doubt on the generalizability of conclusions.

This paper introduces the generalized Hausman test as a novel method for detecting the non-normality of the latent variable distribution of the unidimensional latent trait model for binary data. The test utilizes the pairwise maximum likelihood estimator for the parameters of the latent trait model, which assumes normality of the latent variable, and the maximum likelihood estimator obtained under a semi-non-parametric framework, allowing for a more flexible distribution of the latent variable. The performance of the generalized Hausman test is evaluated through a simulation study and compared with other test statistics available in the literature for testing latent variable distribution fit and an overall goodness-of-fit test statistic.
