Objectives: This in vitro study aimed to investigate the toothbrushing wear on both enamel and dentin surfaces of reference and commercially available dentifrices.
Methods: Bovine enamel and dentin blocks were initially polished and embedded within a resin composite in square shapes (10×8×6 mm3). Employing toothbrushes equipped with nylon bristles, a toothbrushing machine was utilized, subjecting dentin specimens (n = 36) to 500 brush cycles and enamel samples to 5000 brush cycles (n = 36).

Background: Experimental knee implant wear testing according to ISO 14243 is a standard procedure, but it inherently possesses limitations for preclinical evaluations due to extended testing periods and costly infrastructure. In an effort to overcome these limitations, we hereby develop and experimentally validate a finite-element (FE)-based algorithm, including a novel cross-shear and contact pressure dependent wear and creep model, and apply it towards understanding the sensitivity of wear outcomes to the applied boundary conditions.
Methods: Specifically, we investigated the application of in vivo data for level walking from the publicly available "Stan" data set, which contains single representative tibiofemoral loads and kinematics derived from in vivo measurements of six subjects, and compared wear outcomes against those obtained using the ISO standard boundary conditions.

Titanium (Ti), characterized by its exceptional mechanical properties, commendable corrosion resistance and biocompatibility, has emerged as the principal functional materials for implants in biomedical and clinical applications. However, the Ti-6Al-4V (TC4ELI) alloy has cytotoxicity risks, whereas the strength of the existing industrially pure titanium TA4 is marginally inadequate and will significantly limit the scenarios of medical implants. Herein, we prepared ultrafine-grained industrial-grade pure titanium TA4 and titanium alloy TC4ELI via the equal channel angular pressing method, in which the TA4-1 sample has ultrahigh strength of 1.

Statement Of Problem: Three-dimensional (3D) printing and milling technologies have been increasingly used in prosthodontic practice for fabricating digital prostheses. Nevertheless, evidence relating to the wear resistance of denture teeth fabricated using these methods is lacking.
Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare the wear resistance exhibited by denture teeth fabricated using 3D printing and milling technologies with prefabricated denture teeth.

Objective: The aim of the study is to study the degree of adhesion of reference strains of microorganisms to the surface of modern polymer materials for the manufacture of removable prostheses.
Materials And Methods: The primary and residual microbial adhesion of 4 types of polymers was studied: acrylic polymer (Villacryl H Plus), monomerless polymer (Vertex ThermoSens), photopolymers for additive manufacturing (Harz Labs Dental Denture Base, Harz Labs Dental Sand). , , , and were used as reference strains.
