Traditional hydrogel dressings generally have poor mechanical properties and stability when subjected to external stress due to the undesirable chain entanglement structure of their single valence bond compositions. Therefore, it is particularly important to develop a type of gel dressing with good mechanical strength, stability, and environment-friendly monitoring. In this work, a transparent, pH-sensitive, highly stretchable, and biocompatible anthocyanidin ionogel dressing was prepared, realizing green and accurate detection. Attributed to the antibacterial activity of the ionic liquid, the biocompatibility of the pectin, and the ability to scavenge free radicals of the anthocyanidin, the ionogel dressing exhibited excellent re-epithelialization in the 14 day wound healing process. Besides, changes in pH values monitoring of the ionogel over 3 days coincided with normal wound exudate. The obtained ionogel also showed good water retention, swelling properties, mechanical stretchability, and 5 week stability, illustrating great potential in wound dressings.

Ricin toxin (RT) is a potential bioterrorism agent because of its high potency, extremely small lethal dose, ease of preparation, and notable stability. Therefore, a portable method is urgently required to efficiently detect and determine the presence of toxicity of RT and evaluate its potency for public health monitoring and counter-bioterrorism responses. Currently, enzyme-based assays for detecting RT mainly focus on its -glycosidase activity.

Background: Pancreatic cancer is a highly malignant tumor with a poor prognosis, and current treatment methods have limited effectiveness. Therefore, developing new and more effective therapeutic strategies is crucial. This study aims to establish pH-responsive silk fibroin (SF) nanoparticles encapsulating β-hydroxyisovalerylshikonin (SF@β-HIVS) to enhance the therapeutic effects against pancreatic cancer.

Naked siRNAs are sensitive to enzymatic degradation, phagocytic entrapment, quick renal excretion, membrane impermeability, endosomal escape, and off-target effects. Designing a safe and efficient nanocarrier for siRNA delivery to the target site without toxicity remains a significant hurdle in gene therapy. CA is a unique derivative of hydroxyapatite and a highly pH-sensitive nanocarrier with strong particle aggregation and a high polydispersity index.

Background: Acid-sensing ion channels are activated during myocardial ischemia and are implicated in the mechanism of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI). Acid-sensing ion channel 3 (ASIC3), the most pH-sensitive member of the ASIC family, is highly expressed in myocardial tissues. However, the role of ASIC3 in MIRI and its precise effects on the myocardial metabolome remain unclear.
