Large areas and simple processing methods are necessary for the commercialization of organic photovoltaics (OPVs). However, the efficiency drop due to the variation in thickness of OPVs limits their large-scale applications. Regioregular polymers with good crystallinity and packing properties that exhibit high charge mobility and extraction ability can help overcome these limitations. In this study, a regioregular polymer named PDBD-2FBT was synthesized. The crystallinity and packing properties of PDBD-2FBT were enhanced by a simple thermal treatment. Using PDBD-2FBT material as a donor and Y6-HU as an acceptor, we fabricated binary blend OPV devices. The devices with optimized active layer thickness achieved a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 14.14%. A PCE of 13.18% was maintained even in thick-film conditions (400 nm), and thickness tolerance was observed. Based on the thickness tolerance, a 5-line module measuring 36 cm was fabricated via the bar-coating method, and a PCE of approximately 10% was achieved.

Genome or prime editing has become a promising tool for the treatment of hereditary disorders affecting the inner retina, such as dominant optic neuropathies. In vivo delivery of gene editors, such as Cas9, is typically achieved using recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) vectors, which have a broad range of cellular tropisms and are well tolerated following intravitreal administration. Owing to the large size of gene editing constructs and the limited carrying capacity of rAAV (<5.

Article Synopsis
  • * Overexpression of MaFLA27 led to increased expression of genes involved in cell wall components and modification, contributing to thicker cell walls and higher levels of cellulose, lignin, and certain pectins in plants.
  • * In contrast to wild-type plants, MaFLA27-overexpressing plants showed lower levels of pectin methyl-esterification and reduced reactive oxygen species after cold exposure, indicating a potential mechanism for improved cold tolerance linked to cell wall modifications.

Owing to the facile fabrication and surface modification, the cost-effective polymer nanopores are widely employed in unimolecular determination of biomacromolecules and selective sensing of small molecules, nanoparticles and biomarkers. However, the documented polymer nanochannels are generally microscale in length with low spatial resolution. We herein synthesized azobenzene side-chain polymer (Azo-PMA) and spin-coated on silicon nitride membrane to obtain a polymer film of nanoscale thickness for further nanopore generation via controlled dielectric breakdown (CDB) approach.

Purpose: Sozinibercept inhibits vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGFs) C and D. This study evaluated outcomes following switching from anti-VEGF-A monotherapy to intravitreal injections of three dose levels of sozinibercept in combination with aflibercept in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME).

Methods: A phase 1b, open-label, multicenter dose-escalation study with a 24-week follow-up.

Background: Pegylated interferon- (PEG-IFN-α) therapy could decrease hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and improve long-term prognosis of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. However, studies on safety and efficacy of PEG-IFN- for patients with HBV-related cirrhosis are limited.

Methods: This was a single-center study.
