Drought stress has become one of the biggest concerns in threating the growth and yield of carrots ( L.). Recent studies have shed light on the physiological and molecular metabolisms in response to drought in the carrot plant; however, tissue-specific responses and regulations are still not fully understood.

Bladder dysfunction is a common clinical problem in stroke patients and a strong prognostic factor of disability and exerts an enormous impact on health and economy. The aim of this narrative review was tο examine the pathophysiological mechanisms of lower urinary tract symptoms after stroke, as well as the relevant clinical anatomy. Normal micturition is achieved through complex coordination between brain regions, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves, and anatomic brain connectivity is crucial to lower urinary tract physiology.

In the context of organic farming, the introduction of a local product to wider markets and an evaluation of storage effects, metabolic and transcriptomic variations in two broccoli rabe genotypes from production cycles of two different years were studied by comparing florets of stored fresh (SF) and packaged (P) for 4 days with those harvested fresh from the field (H). Twenty-five hydrosoluble compounds, including amino acids, carbohydrates, and organic acids, were quantified by untargeted nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Principal component analysis produced a neat separation among the three commodity statuses with P being the most divergent and SF closer to H.

Germinated whole seeds possess elevated levels of bioactive nutrients; however, their application is hindered by several constraints. The germination process is typically time-consuming, and germinated seeds present challenges in terms of storage and transportation compared to dry seeds. This study introduces a novel processing method for rice, termed prolonged priming (PLP), aiming to combine the benefits of germinated and dry seeds.
