Low diet quality is related to obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) risk among Hispanic women. This cross-sectional study compared diet quality among Hispanic women with overweight/obesity based on their T2DM diagnosis (pre-diabetes/T2DM group, n = 104 vs no diagnosis, at-risk group, n = 84). It was hypothesized that having a pre-diabetes or T2DM diagnosis would be associated with better diet quality based on the Healthy Eating Index (HEI)-2020 score.

In addition to biological factors, maternal exposures during pregnancy can contribute to leukemogenesis in offspring. We conducted a population-based cohort study in Sweden to investigate the association between risk of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in offspring and maternal anthropometrics during pregnancy. A total of 2,961,435 live-born singletons during 1983-2018 were followed from birth to ALL diagnosis, end of age 18, or end of 2018.

The presence of malnutrition in early life is a determining factor in the onset of metabolic alterations and chronic diseases in adults. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the impact of malnutrition in early childhood with the presence of cardiometabolic risk factors in adulthood in marginalized populations from Chiapas, Mexico. The present investigation was based on a prospective cohort study that began in 2002, with young adults aged 18 to 25 years belonging to region in Chiapas, Mexico.

Aim: To elucidate risk factors associated with adverse perinatal outcomes in early-gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
Materials And Methods: A dataset of 385 early-GDM cases from a prospective cohort was analyzed. Early-GDM was diagnosed if one or more of the following criteria were met: fasting plasma glucose (PG) levels of 92-125 mg/dL, 1-h PG levels ≥180 mg/dL, and 2-h PG levels ≥153 mg/dL during a 75-g oral glucose tolerance test before 20 weeks of gestation.
