Sumeet Sidhu  Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women. Estrogen (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) status and Her2 overexpression are major determinants in therapeutic decision making. Triple-negative breast cancers (TNBCs) have limited treatment options. Androgen receptor (AR) expression opens up therapeutic avenues for these patients. The aim of this article was to study the immunohistochemical expression of ARs in ER and PR Negative breast carcinomas and to correlate AR expression with various clinical, histopathological, and other immunohistochemical parameters.  It is a cross-sectional study including 105 ER and PR Negative cases of breast carcinoma. Clinical parameters, histopathology, and immunohistochemical expression of AR, Her2, and Ki67 were analyzed in all cases.  AR expression was observed in 63.8% of ER and PR Negative breast cancers. In this group, AR expression was strongly associated with Her2 co-expression (89.2%) as compared to TNBCs (45.8%); -value = 0.0002. Significant correlation was also observed between AR expression and tumor necrosis ( -value = 0.034) and postmenopausal status (  = 0.007).  Our study shows that significant proportion of ER and PR Negative breast carcinomas (ER- PR- Her2+ and TNBCs) show AR expression. We strongly recommend routine evaluation of all hormone receptor-negative breast carcinomas for AR status by immunohistochemistry.

Breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA) affects women worldwide, and despite advancements in diagnosis, prevention, and treatment, outcomes remain suboptimal. TNIP1, a novel target involved in multiple immune signaling pathways, influences tumor development and survival. However, the connection between BRCA and TNIP1 remains unclear.

Breast cancer poses a significant health threat worldwide. Contrastive learning has emerged as an effective method to extract critical lesion features from mammograms, thereby offering a potent tool for breast cancer screening and analysis. A crucial aspect of contrastive learning is negative sampling, where the selection of hard negative samples is essential for driving representations to retain detailed lesion information.

Immunity suffers a function deficit during aging, and the incidence of cancer is increased in the elderly. However, most cancer models employ young mice, which are poorly representative of adult cancer patients. We have previously reported that Triple-Therapy (TT), involving antigen-presenting-cell activation by vinorelbine and generation of TCF1-stem-cell-like T cells (scTs) by cyclophosphamide significantly improved anti-PD-1 efficacy in anti-PD1-resistant models like Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL), due to T-cell-mediated tumor killing.

Electronic address:

Introduction: Hypericin (HP), a natural photosensitizer, has demonstrated great efficacy in photodynamic therapy (PDT) for cancer treatment. In addition to the induction of apoptosis and necrosis through reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, the therapeutic mechanisms and targets of PDT-HP remain unknown.

Objectives: To investigate the direct targets and mechanisms of action of photoactivated hypericin in the inhibition of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).
